Jiri Prochazka praises "king of the light heavyweight division" Jon Jones
Adam D Martin - May 10, 2021
UFC light heavyweight contender Jiri Prochazka says that he believes Jon Jones is still the “king of the light heavyweight division.” Prochazka is one of the hottest names at 205lbs these days after knocking out Dominick Reyes and Volkan Oezdemir in his first two Octagon appearances. UFC president Dana White has already said Prochazka is next in line to fight the winner of UFC 266’s main event between UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz and No. 1 contender Glover Teixeira, and that’s ideal because “Denisa” is hoping to win the belt. But if you ask Prochazka, the top opponent for him that he could choose would still be Jones.
Neil Magny open to Khamzat Chimaev fight, but explains why he has his concerns about waiting for him
Adam D Martin - May 10, 2021
UFC welterweight Neil Magny says he open to the Khamzat Chimaev fight, but explained why he has his concerns about waiting for him. Magny had one of his best performances ever as he won a unanimous decision over Geoff Neal at UFC Vegas 26. For Magny, beating someone as talented as Neal proves that he still has what it takes to be a top-10 fighter. It’s not a surprise, then, that so many other top contenders in the welterweight division are gunning for Magny, including Chimaev. The Swede has missed all of 2021 so far due to health issues but he is hoping to make his return to the Octagon this summer, and Chimaev has made Magny one of his targets.

Jon Jones trolls UFC president Dana White during his Instagram live session
Adam D Martin - May 10, 2021
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones trolled UFC president Dana White during his recent Instagram live session. Jones and the UFC are currently involved in public contract negotiations for a future fight with UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. Jones has said on social media that the UFC’s initial offer of $8 to $10 million was “way too low” for a fight of this magnitude, and so the UFC and Jones are having a hard time coming to a deal as the promotion does not want to meet Jones’ request of $30 million for the fight. We have seen the contract negotiations play out in public over the last few months and will continue to do so going forward as Jones is one of the UFC’s biggest stars and this is a huge story in MMA.

Angela Hill puts out open call to women's strawweights, Tecia Torres volunteers services
Adam Martin - May 9, 2021
UFC women’s fighter Angela Hill put out an open call to other women’s strawweights, and Tecia Torres has volunteered her services. Hill was set to fight Amanda Ribas in a high-profile women’s strawweight bout on the UFC Vegas 26 undercard, but the fight fell apart at the last minute when Ribas tested positive for COVID-19. Unfortunately, the late scratch meant that it was impossible for the UFC to get someone to fight Hill and she was pulled from the card without getting a fight. It’s possible that the UFC will try and re-book this fight but it’s also possible the promotion could have Hill return in a quick turnaround fight since she is not fully healthy and ready.

In addition to struggling inside the cage, Neal has also dealt with health issues outside of it. It has made the last year of his career extremely difficult from a personal point of view, and now from a professional point of view as well with the losses.
