Jake Paul has claimed he is now a retired boxer. Paul won his fourth professional bout on Sunday as he defeated former UFC welterweight champ, Tyron Woodley by split decision. Although it was ruled a split, most media members thought it was a clear win for Paul who threw more volume and landed more shots than Woodley. However, “The Chosen One” did rock Paul in the fourth and nearly dropped him but it wasn’t enough.

Early on, Lee had success using his wrestling but Rodriguez started to find success on the feet and even rocked “The Motown Phenom” at one point and ended up winning a decision.

Amanda Nunes and Julianna Pena will now fight at UFC 269 with the bantamweight title up for grabs. Nunes and Pena were supposed to fight at UFC 265 in August but the champ-champ got COVID-19 and the fight was postponed. Now, the UFC announced on Monday that the bantamweight title fight will take place on December 11 at UFC 269 at a location TBD. It’s also uncertain what the main event of the year-end pay-per-view will be.

Legend BJ Penn trashed Jake Paul for licking his gloves during the Tyron Woodley fight, saying “Don’t even copy me again you f*cking pussy.” One of the most infamous images of Penn during his legendary career in the UFC was seeing him lick the blood off of his gloves following his wins over Joe Stevenson and Sean Sherk inside the Octagon. “The Prodigy” beat down both men in the Octagon and after vanquishing them, he licked his gloves, which has become a meme all to itself in MMA.

Fights broke out in the crowd during Sunday’s Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley event, and you can see the videos of what happened with the fans. Paul, the former Disney star and YouTube star, participated in his fourth pro boxing match against Woodley, the former UFC welterweight champion who was making his debut in the sweet science. The fight, which served as the co-main event of the evening, was closely fought for eight rounds but ultimately it was Paul taking home a narrow split decision. In addition to Paul vs. Woodley, the main card also featured four other fights. But there were also a number of fights that broke out in the crowd between the alcohol-fueled fans.

In the main event of UFC Vegas 35, top-10 featherweights collided as Giga Chikadze took on Edson Barboza in an anticipated bout. Chikadze entered the fight coming off a first-round TKO win over Cub Swanson which was the first big win of his UFC career. Prior to that, he was beating unranked fighters but did go 4-0 in 2020 to start to make a name for himself. Barboza, meanwhile, had a highlight-reel KO over Shane Burgos last time out and was looking to prove he’s a future featherweight title contender.

The fight was the first of a multi-fight deal with Showtime boxing and it was a closer bout than many thought. In the lead-up to the fight, Paul had said he would knock out Woodley within three rounds but that was not the case. Instead, he didn’t even seem to rock “The Chosen One” and it was Woodley who nearly dropped Paul.

Paul defeated Woodley via split decision on Sunday night in Cleveland, Ohio. It was a closely-contested boxing match that went the full eight-round distance, but Paul did a little bit more during the fight and earned the split nod on the scorecards. With Paul now having a big win over Woodley on his resume, it will give him the extra ammunition needed in order to capture the interest of the biggest-named fighters in the sport. And of course, the biggest out there right now is arguably McGregor, so he against Paul would be a big fight.

UFC welterweight Mike Perry says he wants to focus on boxing, calling out pro boxer Tommy Fury and saying that “I’m down to stand and bang.” Perry, a UFC fan-favorite, is currently in the midst of a rough stretch during his MMA career. He is just 3-7 over his last 10 fights in the Octagon, including a 1-4 record in his last five fights. Moreover, Perry recently declined to fight Kevin Lee, which led to “The Motown Phenom” suggesting that “Platinum” should be removed from the UFC roster. Although Perry is currently in the midst of a losing skid, he is still a personal favorite of UFC president Dana White, which means that, like Sam Alvey, Perry will get another fight.

Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley issued a statement following his split decision loss to Jake Paul, saying to “run it back!” Woodley and Paul fought for eight rounds in the main event of the Showtime boxing PPV card on Sunday night in Cleveland, Ohio. It was a close, competitive fight, but at the end of the eight rounds, the judges reached a split verdict and gave the decision win to Paul. Woodley, however, is adamant that he won the fight and he told Paul in the ring following the decision that he wants to have a rematch against him. Taking to his social media following the fight, Woodley once again called for a rematch against Paul, while asking why there was no drug testing and suggesting it was sketchy fighting in Paul’s native Cleveland.

The November UFC 268 pay-per-view card was officially announced and the event is absolutely stacked, with Dana White gushing over it. During Saturday’s UFC Vegas 35 card, the first seven fights for UFC 268 were officially announced. Check out the card below as it is incredibly stacked with two title fights at the top of the docket. The first features the rematch between UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington, then there is a rematch between UFC women’s strawweight champion Rose Namajunas and Weili Zhang. In addition to those fights, Justin Gaethje vs. Michael Chandler, Sean Strickland vs. Luke Rockhold, Frankie Edgar vs. Marlon Vera, Germaine de Randamie vs. Irene Aldana, and Bobby Green vs. Al Iaquinta were also added to the card. On paper, this is one of the best PPVs the UFC has put on in years.

UFC middleweight Makhmud Muradov reacted following his massive upset loss to veteran Gerald Meerschaert at UFC Vegas 35. Muradov is the only MMA fighter who is signed by legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather’s “The Money Team.” The Uzbekistan native entered the fight against Meerschaert with a 25-6 record which included 20 wins by stoppage, including back-to-back knockouts over Andrew Sanchez and Trevor Smith in the UFC. That record, plus his affiliation to Mayweather, and it’s easy to see why Muradov had a lot of hype heading into the fight.
