Francis Ngannou enters UFC 270 title fight on last fight of contract, reveals Dana White: 'If you don't want to be with us, no problem'

Francis Ngannou may be a free agent after his UFC 270 heavyweight title fight against Ciryl Gane in January. Ngannou won the heavyweight title at UFC 260 back in March after he knocked out Stipe Miocic in the second round. After the win, Ngannou and the UFC had a dispute over his next fight which resulted in the promotion booking an interim title fight between Ciryl Gane and Derrick Lewis.

More information on Chael Sonnen’s recent battery citations has been revealed. On Sunday, it was revealed Sonnen was hit with five battery citations after allegedly being a part of a hotel brawl in Las Vegas. The former UFC fighter was detained but was ultimately not arrested because cops didn’t personally witness the alleged incident.

In the final card of 2021, a battle of top-10 heavyweights headlined UFC Vegas 45 as Derrick Lewis took on Chris Daukaus. Lewis entered the fight coming off a TKO loss to Ciryl Gane back in the main event of UFC 265 in August for the interim heavyweight title. Prior to that, he was on a four-fight winning streak, where during that run he knocked out Curtis Blaydes. Daukaus, meanwhile, was 4-0 in the UFC with all four wins coming by knockout and was coming off a TKO win over Shamil Abdurakhimov at UFC 266.

UFC President Dana White is open to booking a trilogy fight between superstars Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor. Diaz and McGregor of course have a long and storied history having fought two times in the past at UFC 196 and UFC 202. In the pairs first encounter, ‘The Stockton Native’ weathered an early storm from the Irishman before turning tide and putting Conor away with a rear-naked choke in round two.

Last Saturday night in Tampa, Jake Paul produced the best knockout of his career thus far as he put Tyron Woodley’s lights out in their short notice rematch. It came just under four months after Paul was able to defeat the former UFC welterweight champion via decision in his hometown of Cleveland.

However, while the victory was nice, it was slightly ruined by the fact that Tafa weighed in at 267 and therefore became the first heavyweight to officially miss the mark in UFC history.

Jake Paul was beating Tyron Woodley before he scored the knockout, according to the judges. In the main event of a Showtime boxing pay-per-view on Saturday, Paul scored a violent KO over Woodley in the sixth round. Although Paul got the win he was looking for, many thought Woodley was winning the fight or that the bout was very close entering the sixth round. However, the judges didn’t see things that way, as all three of them had the fight for Paul after five rounds.

He still was given five misdemeanor battery citations and the police are still investigating the incident.
