Darren Elkins has issued a statement after suffering a nasty TKO loss to Cub Swanson at last weekend’s UFC Vegas 45 event. Elkins (26-10 MMA) had entered Saturday’s fight card on a two-fight winning streak, with his most previous effort back in July resulting in a TKO victory over Darrick Minner.

YouTuber turned pro boxer Jake Paul has issued a warning to Canelo Alvarez following his knockout win over Tyron Woodley. Last Saturday night in Tampa, Jake Paul produced the best knockout of his career thus far as he put Tyron Woodley’s lights out in their short notice rematch. It came just under four months after Paul was able to defeat the former UFC welterweight champion via decision in his hometown of Cleveland.

Prior to that setback, ‘Wonderboy’ was coming off back-to-back unanimous decision victories over Geoff Neal and Vicente Luque.

Jake Paul was beating Tyron Woodley before he scored the knockout, according to the judges. In the main event of a Showtime boxing pay-per-view on Saturday, Paul scored a violent KO over Woodley in the sixth round. Although Paul got the win he was looking for, many thought Woodley was winning the fight or that the bout was very close entering the sixth round. However, the judges didn’t see things that way, as all three of them had the fight for Paul after five rounds.

Chael Sonnen has been hit with five battery citiations after allegedly being a part of a hotel brawl in Las Vegas. TMZ Sports was first to share the news as they reported that Sonnen was detained but was ultimately not arrested because cops didn’t personally witness the alleged incident. He still was given five misdemeanor battery citations and the police are still investigating the incident.
PFL, Bellator veteran Jordan Young dead at 27

Jordan Young has passed away at age 27. Young, a veteran of PFL and Bellator, passed away on Saturday, his boxing coach at American Top Team Derik Santos. ATT and PFL confirmed the news on Sunday. The cause of death is not known at this time.

However, Jake Paul would ultimately land the better volume of strikes throughout the course of the contest and thus walked away with the split decision victory.
