UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is no longer interested in the idea of fighting Jon Jones next. Ngannou (16-3 MMA) is set to square off with his former teammate and current interim title holder Ciryl Gane (10-0 MMA) in the headliner of Saturday’s UFC 270 pay-per-view event.

Khamzat Chimaev may have just gotten even scarier. The Swede recently touched down in Phuket, Thailand to train at Tiger Muay Thai. The island gym has previously hosted multiple UFC champions including Valentina Shevchenko, Alexander Volkanovski, George St-Pierre, Israel Adesanya and numerous others.

Matt Frevola is planning to remind the world just how good he is at UFC 270. Frevola had a rough 2021 as he went 0-2, losing a decision to Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 257 and suffering a seven-second KO loss to Terrance McKinney at UFC 263. However, he fought Tsarukyan on a days’ notice and took the McKinney fight on a couple of days’ notice as well.

Tom Aspinall will be headlining UFC London but it won’t be against his original opponent. According to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Aspinall was originally supposed to fight Shamil Abdurakhimov. However, Shamil was pulled from the fight and the Brit will now face Alexander Volkov instead.

Dana White has sent a message to Francis Ngannou ahead of UFC 270. In the main event of the first pay-per-view card in 2022, Ngannou is set to defend his heavyweight title for the first time against the interim champ, Ciryl Gane. It’s a fascinating fight due to them being ex-training partners, but a big storyline for the scrap is the fact this is Ngannou’s last fight on his contract.

Kay Hansen was supposed to fight on January 15, but after hearing UFC 270 was the week after in Anaheim, she made it clear she wanted to be on that card. Hansen is from Anaheim and of course wanted to be a part of the card but her managers initial request to have the bout moved didn’t happen. However, she decided to take matters into her own hands and messaged Dana White herself to move the fight, and just a day later she got her wish.
