Jon Jones’ advisor to meet with the UFC to discuss potential title fights against Francis Ngannou and Stipe Miocic

Jon Jones’ advisor, Richard Schaefer will be meeting with the UFC brass this weekend to discuss ‘Bones’ returning to the UFC. Jones has not fought since February of 2020 where he defeated Dominick Reyes by decision to defend his light heavyweight title. After that, he vacated his 205lbs strap in hopes of moving up to heavyweight. However, as of right now ‘Bones’ has yet to make the official move, but the hope for many fans is he returns to face Francis Ngannou or Stipe Miocic in the very near future.

Ryan Bader is currently set to fight Valentin Moldavsky at Bellator 273. Despite his focus being on the interim champion, there’s still a massive looming figure in the form of Fedor Emelianenko. ‘Darth’ defeated the Russian in the finals of the 2018 Bellator heavyweight Grand-Prix. With the win, Bader became one of the few to defeat the legend, and also claimed the promotion’s heavyweight title.

It seems that he’s finally going to get it. ‘Borz’ has recently been calling out seemingly anyone and everyone for a fight. Even slamming top figures such as Kamaru Usman, Conor McGregor, and Brock Lesnar. However, he’s been unable to get any high-profile bout since his destruction of Li Jingliang in October 2021.

Although she got her hand raised, the Canadian admitted she did want a brawl but her coaches told her not to.

Sean O’Malley, (15-1 MMA) on episode 50 of his YouTube show, stated that Jake Paul is a ‘bigger star’ than UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. As everyone knows, Ngannou (17-3 MMA) defeated Ciryl Gane (10-1 MMA) at UFC 270 last weekend, retaining the heavyweight title. There was much chatter about the fact that Dana White did not put the belt on the victor and was absent after the post-fight press conference.

Jeremy Stephens to sign with PFL after departure from UFC

Jeremy Stephens is joining the Professional Fighters League. On Thursday it was revealed Stephens and the UFC parted ways as “Lil Heathen” fought out his contract and was not re-signed. Now, according to MMA reporter, Ariel Helwani, Stephens has agreed to a deal with the PFL to compete in their 2022 lightweight tournament.

The former UFC light heavyweight champion was set to be one-half of the first First Night event out of the UFC Apex since 2020. Ever since Paul began boxing ex-UFC fighters, he has been vocal about fighter pay and how White isn’t paying his fighters enough money. The two have gone back-and-forth about it on social media and now, Paul says he wants to start a fighter’s union.

The current UFC welterweight champion recently revealed in an interview with GQ that he pondered fighting up in weight. Usman admitted that he didn’t even think about fighting at 185 pounds due to his friendship with UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.

Jeremy Stephens, 35, an American professional mixed martial artist who competed in the featherweight division before returning to lightweight in 2021, just announced he will be parting ways with the UFC. Stephens, (28-19 MMA) has the not so distinguished record of having the most losses in UFC history. Adding to that is the fact that he has not won a fight inside the Octagon since July 2018.

Francis Ngannou squared off with Ciryl Gane last Saturday at UFC 270 in Anaheim, California. The headliner event between the two resulted in Ngannou retaining the heavyweight belt. It was Ngannous’ sixth win in a row and Ganes’ first career loss.
