He retired following a win over Dominick Cruz at UFC 249 in another defense of his bantamweight crown. However, shortly following his abrupt retirement, the former two-weight champion began discussing a return.

Anthony Smith doesn’t understand why Cain Velasquez is in jail but the person that allegedly molested one of the former UFC heavyweight champion relatives isn’t. Although Smith says he likely would’ve done the same thing Velasquez did had it been his kids, he says this is a scenario where you can’t take the law into your own hands as he will now do time in jail for it.

After the third and fourth round, many fans and even Michael Bisping on the commentary thought the fight should’ve been stopped. Moicano was down four rounds to dos Anjos and was taking unnecessary punishment but Goddard decided to allow the fight to continue which the Brazilian is thankful for.

GoFundMe has shut down any fundraiser for Cain Velasquez. After news came out that Velasquez shot at a man who was recently charged with molesting a close relative of his, the MMA community rallied around the former heavyweight champ. They called for him to be freed from jail and fans started a GoFundMe to help offset the cost for his legal team. At least two legal fund campaigns have been shut down, GoFundMe confirmed citing a violation of terms of service.

Ever since Covington was kicked out of American Top Team, he has taken shots at Poirier, and “The Diamond” has said it’s on sight if he sees him. Harrison has been out of the cage since October 2021, a win over Taylor Guardado. The victory cemented her as a two-time PFL tournament champion, and also made her one of the hottest free agents in the sport. Her contract with the promotion notably expired following the win.
