Several pro fighters have given their reactions after Jorge Masvidal allegedly attacked Colby Covington at a restaurant in Miami. Earlier this month, the two welterweight contenders squared off in the main event of UFC 272. Covington dominated the bout and wound up defeating his former friend via unanimous decision. Following the bout, the bad blood and tensions between the two continued to run high.

Nate Diaz has reacted after Jorge Masvidal allegedly sucker-punched Colby Covington at a restaurant in Miami. Late Monday evening it was reported that Masvidal and Covington got into a scuffle at Miami Beach restaurant Papi Steak and police were called. It was then revealed on Tuesday that ‘Gamebred’ went to the restaurant with a surgical mask on and his hood up and sucker-punched Covington twice. Those punches allegedly broke Covington’s tooth and left an abrasion on his wrist.

Jorge Masvidal reportedly sucker-punched Colby Covington twice on Monday night in Miami as more details have been released. Late Monday evening it was reported that Masvidal and Covington got into a scuffle at Miami Beach restaurant Papi Steak and police were called. At the time, no one knew who was at fault but on Tuesday, Fox Sports 640 South Florida radio host Andy Slater – who broke the story – took to Twitter to provide more details on the incident.

Chael Sonnen, according to ‘TMZ’ is facing 11 charges from an incident which occurred last December 18th, 2021 at the Luxor Hotel and Casino. According to online court documents, Chael Sonnen is facing a felony battery by strangulation charge, along with 10 misdemeanor battery charges — which were all filed on March 14th, 2022. At the time of the incident, police issued Sonnen with five misdemeanour citations and escorted him off the Luxor property, after being handcuffed and detained, but ultimately he was not arrested or put in jail.

It was just last Saturday, March 19th that UFC London took place amongst a full capacity crowd in the O2 Arena. It had been three years since the UFC was live in London, and it was to be the 12th live event in the English capital, and it didn’t disappoint.

Following years of conflict, Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington finally settled the score earlier this month at UFC 272. While Masvidal did manage to get some nice shots in, it was Covington who ultimately came out on top with a convincing unanimous decision triumph over his former best friend.

UFC lightweight Ottman Azaitar has challenged Paddy Pimblett to a fight following the latter’s win last weekend. While he’s had a rollercoaster ride of a stint with the UFC thus far, which included him being released after breaching COVID-19 protocols, Ottman Azaitar is still one of the most intriguing prospects in the 155-pound division. He’s currently 13-0 as a professional and 2-0 in the UFC with many believing he can be a title contender one day – so long as he’s able to get back in the Octagon, where he hasn’t been since September 2020.

Colby Covington has shown off his new King of Miami belt after beating Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272. In the lead-up to his welterweight grudge match against Masvidal at UFC 272, he said they were fighting for the title of ‘King of Miami’. After he dominated ‘Gamebred’ from bell to bell and won a clear-cut decision he revealed he was getting a King of Miami belt which has now arrived.

Demian Maia has reacted after learning that Paul Craig named his daughter after him. The ‘Bearjew’ continued his ascent up the light-heavyweight rankings at UFC London. Dealing with some early adversity against Nikita Krylov, Craig survived and submitted him near the end of the first round. The victory earned him a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus for his efforts, and also continued his unbeaten streak to six.

Arnold Allen has responded to Israel Adesanya’s comments about his fight with Dan Hooker. The two featherweights squared off at UFC London in the co-main event. Allen dominated the contest and stopped Hooker in the first round with a flurry of punches. Despite the seeming finality of the bout, ‘The Hangman’s teammate Israel Adesanya disagreed with the stoppage.

In the main event of UFC London on Saturday, a pivotal heavyweight bout went down as Tom Aspinall took on Alexander Volkov. Aspinall entered the fight being just 4-0 in the UFC and a relative unknown to many. He was coming off a TKO win over Serghei Spivac and also held a submission win over Andrei Arlovski. Volkov, meanwhile, beat Marcin Tybura his last time out, a win which was preceded by a decision loss to Ciryl Gane. This was also his sixth UFC main event.

Cody Brundage knew the opening minutes of his UFC Vegas 50 fight against Dalcha Lungiambula would be hectic. Entering his second UFC fight, Brundage knew Lungiambula’s path to victory was an early stoppage. With that, his coaches told him he needed to survive the early few minutes but in the opening exchanges, he got rocked which forced him to focus on surviving.

Paddy Pimblett has responded to reports of what he earned at UFC London, and he doesn’t seem pleased. ‘The Baddy’ made his return last weekend against Kazula Vargas. After a scare early in the first round, Pimblett recovered and quickly submitted his foe. With the victory, he moved to 2-0 in his UFC career, and also earned a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus for his efforts.

Israel Adesanya thinks the ref stopped Arnold Allen’s TKO win over Dan Hooker too early. In the co-main event of UFC London, Hooker returned to featherweight and was facing Allen who is undefeated in the UFC. It was an intriguing matchup and a crucial fight for Hooker. Early on, both men threw heavy shots but it was Allen who wound up catching Hooker with a big combination. The Kiwi responded with a nice counter that staggered the Brit for a moment. However, Allen continued the pressure and landed heavy shots along the fence and the ref eventually stopped the fight.

UFC London this past weekend resulted in Paddy Pimblett (18-3 MMA) defeating Rodrigo ‘Kazula’ Vargas (12-5 MMA) in their lightweight fight. The 02 Arena went crazy when their hometown lad won and vaulted the cage in celebration.
