Dan Hardy is set to return to combat sports for an exhibition boxing match with Diego Sanchez. Yes, Hardy’s (25-10 MMA) return to combat sports action will not come in a cage but rather in a boxing ring. ‘The Outlaw’, 39, has spent the majority of the last 12 years working for the UFC, first as a welterweight fighter and then, after being sidelined with a heart disorder, as an analyst and color commentator. Hardy, has since received clearance by his doctors and has been contemplating the idea of a comeback for several years.

Jorge Masvidal has shared his thoughts on Khamzat Chimaev. Khamzat (11-1 MMA) seems to be the fighter everyone is talking about. The Swede is just coming off a unanimous decision win at UFC 273 where he defeated Gilbert Burns (20-5 MMA) in the welterweight bout. The duo won ‘Fight of the Night’ honors and saw Chimaev break into the top five of the 170lb rankings.

PFL champion Antonio Carlos Junior has claimed that he made more in one year with the promotion than he did in 13 fights with UFC. While he may have always been an intriguing fighter to watch during his time with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, we never saw Carlos Junior reach the heights that many thought he was capable of. After falling to three straight defeats, the Brazilian made his way over to PFL and entered their light heavyweight tournament.

Very few fighters are able to make as big of an impression after two fights as Paddy Pimblett has. In many ways, despite securing a knockout and a submission in those contests, his actual performances don’t have a lot to do with the success he’s been having.

In the main of 2022 PFL 1, Jeremy Stephens is set to make his promotional debut against Clay Collard. Jeremy Stephens (28-19) is on a six-fight winless streak and coming off a 65-second submission loss to Mateusz Gamrot. That setback marked the last fight on his UFC deal and he then signed with PFL. On the losing skid, he suffered a TKO loss to Calvin Kattar, a decision loss to Yair Rodriguez, which took place after a No Contest due to an accidental eye poke. As well, he suffered a decision loss to Zabit Magomedsharipov and a TKO loss to Jose Aldo. His last win came in February 2018 when he knocked out Josh Emmett.

Paulo Costa is looking to run things back with Marvin Vettori. Costa and Vettori headlined a Fight Night card back in October in a light heavyweight bout, this after the Brazilian showed up on fight week heavy. Ultimately, it didn’t help him, as it was Vettori winning by decision. Since then, Costa has been vocal in wanting to rematch him.

Former UFC strawweight champion Jessica Andrade is back at 115 pounds this weekend. The move comes after a brief run at flyweight, where she had three fights. The Brazilian is set to face Amanda Lemos in the main event of UFC Vegas 52 this weekend. It will be her first fight at strawweight since her split decision loss to Rose Namajunas at UFC 251 in July 2020.

After Medeiros was released from the UFC following his fourth straight loss, he made it known he wanted to fight for Bellator on one of the two Hawaii cards. After making it public, Scott Coker and Bellator gave him the opportunity to fight on Bellator 279 on Saturday in Hawaii which Medeiros is ecstatic about.

Mike Jackson is back fighting again in the UFC as he will welcome Dean Barry to the promotion at UFC Vegas 52. The two were booked to fight in January and in May of 2021, but visa issues on both sides caused the fight to be scrapped. According to Jackson, this is a fight the UFC wanted to make so he wasn’t surprised when they made it for the third time.

UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling has discussed his upcoming fight with T.J. Dillashaw. ‘Funk Master’ was last seen in action at UFC 273 earlier this month. Sterling moved to 2-0 in his series against Petr Yan, winning by split decision. Following the bout, UFC president Dana White opined that a fight against T.J. Dillashaw makes sense next.

Ben Askren has responded after Jorge Masvidal suggested he would ‘love’ to face him in a straight wrestling match. Askren, 37, is a former professional mixed martial artist and amateur wrestler. ‘Funky’ is the former Bellator and ONE Welterweight Champion, who remained undefeated for over a decade before competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Ben Askren (19-2 MMA) retired from active competition after his loss to Demian Maia (28-11 MMA) back in October of 2019.

Nate Diaz doesn’t like the UFC selling NFTs of him and his brother Nick. The UFC recently created UFC strike which puts KOs, submissions, or moments into NFTs for fans to buy and sell. They have had a few drops now but on 4/20, they released special Nick and Nate Diaz moments which Nate isn’t a fan of.

Khabib Nurmagomedov has taken to Instagram to reflect on his win over Rafael Dos Anjos way back in April of 2014. Khabib, 33, (29-0 MMA), is a Russian former professional mixed martial artist. Competing in the lightweight division of the UFC, he was the longest-reigning UFC Lightweight Champion, having held the title from April 2018 to March 2021. It was in 2021 that ‘The Eagle’, with never tasting defeat after 29 professional bouts, officially announced his retirement from the sport.

While he may have re-entered the USADA testing pool, there are still a few question marks out there regarding the immediate future of Henry Cejudo. The man known as “Triple C” has indicated that he’d be open to both a featherweight debut and a bantamweight return, with his hope being that he can become the first fighter to win a UFC title in three weight classes.
