Daniel Rodriguez may have walked away with the split decision in his battle with Li Jingliang at UFC 279, but ‘The Leech’s’ power seemed to leave quite an impression on ‘D-Rod.’ The Chinese fighter caught the American with some big shots and appeared to have the better of the exchanges in their 180lb catchweight battle at T-Mobile Arena earlier this month. So much so, that numerous industry figures including Dana White and Jingliang himself have suggested the result was a robbery.

Anderson Silva revealed potential plans for his final combat fight to take place in Japan to cap off an historic career. The former UFC middleweight champion held the belt from 2006-2013 and defeated some of the best fighters of his era, including Rich Franklin (x2), Yushin Okami, Chael Sonnen (x2), Forrest Griffin, and Patrick Cotè, to name a few. Silva left the UFC in October of 2020 after a loss to Uriah Hall at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, NV. Ever since the loss, he has vowed to pursue other combat ventures outside of MMA, which includes boxing.

The fight will only be nine minutes, and even though it is short and an exhibition, Mayweather still got a hefty purse for it. He has said he wants to work smarter and not harder for his money and he’s doing just that as he revealed he is making a few million every minute.

Scott Coker is hoping to bring Nate Diaz to Bellator. Coker used to promote Nick and Nate Diaz in Strikeforce and the two have a good relationship. With Coker now serving as Bellator’s president, he confirmed to the media in Ireland that the promotion is talking with Diaz and his team about a deal. The hope is to have a deal in place that allows Diaz to take boxing fights but his MMA fights would be in Bellator.

McGregor and Mayweather had their massive boxing fight in 2017 as it was one of the biggest fights of all time and was a massive payday for both. Lane previously appeared on the Contender Series in 2018, getting knocked out in under a minute by Greg Hardy, another NFL-to-MMA experiment. Four years later and carrying a five fight win streak, Lane returned against Richard Jacobi. While he’d go on to win the fight, things almost went very wrong for Lane when he kicked his opponent square in the groin just 30 seconds into the first round.

Mayweather is set to fight popular social media celebrity and MMA fighter Mikuru Asakura in Japan at Super RIZIN on September 25th. It’s not a serious or competitive bout, but the money is extremely good. According to Floyd, he’ll pocket $20 million for the nine minute boxing match … which could end quickly if Mayweather decides not to play with his food.

UFC president Dana White has given his thoughts on the reportedly disappointing PPV numbers for Canelo Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin 3. While the excitement levels may have been high for the trilogy fight between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin, the end result proved to be quite the disappointment. As opposed to the two men putting on a show, Canelo eased to a relatively dull unanimous decision win as he retained his belts against a version of Gennady Golovkin who, in many ways, was showing his age.

According to South China Morning Post, Alvarez and ONE Championship agreed to part ways as the former UFC lightweight champ has not fought since April of 2021.
