Aljamain Sterling believes he’d bring a different set of issues for Alexander Volkanovski as opposed to the Islam Makhachev fights. Volkanovski had two clashes with the now reigning UFC Welterweight Champion. In their first encounter, “The Great” had a competitive grappling affair but fell short via unanimous decision. Volkanovski was slept by a head kick in their rematch.

Aljamain Sterling wouldn’t decline a UFC featherweight title opportunity if offered following his performance at UFC Vegas 116. Sterling shared the Octagon with Youssef Zalal inside the Meta Apex this past Saturday. The “Funk Master” scored a unanimous decision win to earn his second victory in a row. Sterling’s most recent loss was against Movsar Evloev, and he  continues to dispute the judges’ decision.

Aljamain Sterling believes a featherweight title opportunity looms if he scores a win at UFC Vegas 116. Sterling is scheduled to face Youssef Zalal on Saturday. Zalal is riding an eight-fight winning streak and he’s coming off a submission finish over Josh Emmett. Sterling was last seen inside the Octagon back in Aug. 2025, scoring a unanimous decision win over Brian Ortega.

Daniel Cormier thinks the version of Aaron Pico that showed up at UFC 327 is a serious threat to the UFC Featherweight Champion. Pico collided with fellow Bellator alum Patricio “Pitbull” Freire on the featured preliminary bout of this past Saturday’s card in Miami. Pico scored a unanimous decision victory to get back in the win column.

Alexander Volkanovski admits he’s a bit annoyed Jean Silva is in the title conversation at featherweight. Volkanovski doesn’t have his next fight booked. But it is expected that Movsar Evloev will get the next title shot after he won at UFC London. However, Silva has been campaigning for a title shot, but Volkanovski doesn’t think he deserves it.

UFC commentator Joe Rogan believes Alexander Volkanovski vs Movsar Evloev should take place at the White House. Last weekend in the main event of UFC London, Movsar Evloev defeated Lerone Murphy in a pretty close featherweight contest at the O2 Arena. Alas, Movsar had done enough in the eyes of the judges to get his hand raised, and as we look ahead to the future, it certainly seems to make sense for him to get the call to compete for the UFC featherweight championship in his next outing.

Top UFC featherweight contender Movsar Evloev added to his building case for a title shot by defeating the previously unbeaten Lerone Murphy at UFC London. Evloev continued his undefeated streak to begin his MMA career with a back-and-forth battle with Murphy to retain his No. 1 contender spot.

The titleholder recently underwent surgery in an attempt to correct vision problems stemming from the accidental foul that led to a no contest.
