Former UFC champion Fabricio Werdum's MMA future uncertain after end of PFL contract

Former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum is now a free agent. ‘Vai Cavalo’ has been out of action since his clash with Renan Ferreira at PFL 3 in May 2021. In that outing, the latter initially scored a first-round knockout win over the former champion after a submission attempt. Months later, the fight was overturned to a no-contest after Ferreira was seen tapping in a triangle attempt from Werdum.

In that outing, Molina picked up the victory by split decision, his 10th in a row. Prior to that victory over Zhumagulov, the Kansan picked up wins over names such as Aori Qileng and Daniel da Silva.

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm isn’t done yet. ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ has been out of action since her headliner with Ketlen Vieira last May. Heading into the contest, Holm was hopeful that she would secure a title shot with a win. The Brazilian ultimately sprung the upset by split-decision, although the decision was very controversial.
