UFC Vegas 78: 'Luque vs. dos Anjos' Live Results and Highlights

The Octagon returns to Las Vegas for tonight’s UFC Vegas 78 event, a thirteen-bout fight card headlined by Vicente Luque vs. Rafael dos Anjos. Luque (21-9-1 MMA) will be returning to the Octagon for the first time since suffering a knockout loss to Geoff Neal twelve months ago. ‘The Silent Assassin’ experienced a brain bleed following that bout and was forced to undergo significant testing before finally being cleared to fight by the Nevada Commission last month. Vicente has gone 4-2 over his past six fights overall, earning wins over Tyron Woodley, Michael Chiesa, Randy Brown and Niko Price during that stretch.
Francis Marshall expects to gas out Isaac Dulgarian at UFC Vegas 78 and hopefully earn a spot on MSG card

Marshall says he decided to fight differently than what he and his coaches studied for, and that ended up costing him.

Billy Quarantillo knew his scrap with Damon Jackson at UFC Nashville would be a dog fight. Quarantillo was coming off a first-round KO loss to Edson Barboza back in April and knew he needed to get back into the win column. Yet, in the first round, Jackson was able to use his wrestling to grind on Quarantillo and win the open five minutes, which is exactly what Billy was expecting.

Isaac Dulgarian will finally be making his UFC debut. Dulgarian earned his UFC contract on Lookin’ For A Fight and also received the Full Send deal, but that never came to fruition. He was supposed to make his debut in January but had to withdraw from the fight which was heartbreaking for him.

UFC women’s strawweight Polyana Viana won’t have a Naurto-esque entrance on Saturday. ‘Iron Lady’ has been out of the cage since a knockout win over Jinh Yu Frey in November. That win over the former Invicta FC champion was a massive one, having won three of her last four fights. Prior to that victory, Polyana Viana notched wins over Mallory Martin and Emily Whitmire.

Over the last few months, the two tech moguls have been going back and forth regarding a potential fight. While a controversial decision at the time, Dana White announced his plans to make Elon Musk vs. Mark Zuckerberg. The promoter defended the bout as anything but a ‘gimmick fight‘, and that the two were serious about fighting.

Bellator president Scott Coker wants fans to know that they’ll be around for a while after October. Earlier this week, the company announced several fights for their historic Bellator 300 event. Headlined by a heavyweight title fight between Ryan Bader and Linton Vassell, three other championship bouts are slated for the event. Champions Cris Cyborg, Usman Nurmagomedov, and Liz Carmouche are slated for the event. They will face challengers Cat Zingano, Brent Primus, and Ilima-Lei Macfarlane, respectively.

Jorge Masvidal is open to becoming a pro wrestler for the WWE. Masvidal announced his retirement from MMA back in April following a decision loss to Gilbert Burns at UFC 287. It was his fourth straight defeat and ‘Gamebred’ said he felt like he could no longer compete at the highest level.
