The octagon returns to the great state of Texas this evening for UFC San Antonio, a televised event headlined by a welterweight fight between Rafael dos Anjos and Leon Edwards. Former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos (29-11 MMA) returned to the win column in May, scoring a submission victory over Kevin Lee at UFC Rochester. ‘RDA’ has gone 4-2 since making the jump to welterweight.

TJ Dillashaw makes a promise to fight fans regarding his UFC return

Former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw is focusing on his health while he serves a two-year suspension from the New York State Athletic Commission. Dillashaw (16-4 MMA), who was handed a 2-year ban for his use of EPO following his loss to Henry Cejudo in January, has gone under the knife on two occasions in recent months, this to repair his two blown out shoulders.

Like many of us, former middleweight champion Michael Bisping was thrilled to learn that the UFC had booked a fight between Donald Cerrone and Justin Gaethje. The perennial lightweight contenders, Cerrone and Gaethje, will headline the promotions return to Vancouver, Canada, on September 14.

Over the course of the month, the Octagon will touch down in countries all over the world, from its home turf in the United States to destinations as far flung as China and Uruguay. The promotion recently released official posters for three of the four fight cards scheduled for August on social media: UFC Newark, UFC Uruguay, and UFC Shenzhen.
UFC, Strikeforce veteran Jason 'Mayhem' Miller gets jail time with guilty plea

Former UFC and Strikeforce fighter Jason Miller — known by the ring name ‘Mayhem’ — has been sentenced to one year in prison after pleading guilty to a felony count of vandalism and a misdemeanor count of violating a protective stay-away order, per the Orange County Register. The 38-year-old was arrested in October after destroying a large marble table at his former girlfriend’s home. The former UFC and Strikeforce star also punched holes in the wall, destroyed several doors, and knocked the garage door off its tracks, according to prosecutors. He has remained in custody since this incident.
Germaine de Randamie wants Amanda Nunes rematch, but not at featherweight

After Germaine de Randamie beat Aspen Ladd by knockout in just 16-seconds at UFC Sacramento, many believe she is next for the title shot against reigning bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes. After all, de Randamie was ranked number-one heading into the fight and beat the then fourth-ranked fighter. Yet, de Randamie isn’t certain if Nunes is next — especially if Nunes decides to defend her UFC featherweight title next.
Gegard Mousasi responds to fans calling him 'a bad loser'

In late June, Gegard Mousasi surrendered the Bellator middleweight title to Rafael Lovato Jr., losing via majority decision. Shortly after this defeat, Mousasi accused his foe of performance-enhancing drug use. “I should have won this match even with him using PEDs,” Mousasi said on Vechtersbazen Podcast. “I told the commission that it’s clear that he was on PEDs. (The commissioner) gave me a pat on the shoulder and told me that he was going to get tested on fight day and walked away.”
