Former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt responded to callouts from Henry Cejudo and Petr Yan after announcing he will soon drop down to flyweight. Garbrandt revealed this weekend that his plan is to fight Raphael Assuncao in his last bout at 135lbs before making the move down to 125lbs. Both Cejudo and Yan have been tied to fights against Garbrandt in the past, and both men took to social media to once again call out Garbrandt after he announced his move down to the flyweight division.

The UFC has lost two of its scheduled upcoming bouts for the UFC Nebraska and UFC 249 cards due to the coronavirus pandemic and a fighter injury. At UFC 249, Lyman Good was set to fight Belal Muhammad in a welterweight bout. But according to MMAFighting.com, that fight will no longer be happening as Good has been forced to pull out with an injury. As of now, Muhammad is still set to fight on the card but he doesn’t have a replacement opponent. It’s also worth noting that UFC 249 still does not have a location set for it, despite the event set to take place in just two weeks on April 18.

UFC heavyweight contender Greg Hardy may be on tap to fight at the new UFC 249 card as opponent Yorgan de Castro teased an upcoming bout between the two. Hardy and de Castro were scheduled to meet at UFC Columbus on March 28 but that card was scrapped due to the coronavirus pandemic. UFC president Dana White has been adamant that the UFC 249 card set for April 18 at a location TBD will still go on as planned, and the two heavyweights may be a part of that new card if it happens.

Dana White was named in a lawsuit filed Friday that alleged the UFC President was victimized in a $200,000 sex-tape extortion. According to a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal, White was named in the Clark County District Court suit filed against the UFC boss by the man who served time for the sensational crime.

Earlier today former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley took to Twitter where he proclaimed that he had given his team permission to accept a fight at UFC 249. In the post, Woodley stated that his ideal opponent for the event would be bitter rival Colby Covington.

The event is slated to take place on April 18 but a location and venue has yet to be determined by the promotion. UFC 249 was originally scheduled to take place in Brooklyn, however due to the Covid-19 pandemic that option is no longer available.

Former Ultimate Fighting Champions Jose Aldo and Shogun Rua were expected to compete at UFC 250 on May 9 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, next month’s pay-per-view event will have to be relocated. The report comes from Brazilian news outlet Combate who suggests that the UFC is now looking to move May’s highly anticipated event to the USA.

Former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor is doing everything in his power to assist his home country of Ireland during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Irish star has been vocal on social media in recent days, encouraging his countrymen to stay home and help others during the crisis. McGregor has also made multiple donations to help fight the Coronavirus and those suffering from the disease.

Conor McGregor will not be fighting on April 18 at UFC 249 according to his coach, John Kavanagh. After Khabib Nurmagomedov announced he would be off of UFC 249 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some thought McGregor could step in. A win over Ferguson would no doubt earn him another crack at the undefeated Dagestani champion. But, according to his coach, due to the Irish lockdown, that is not possible.

Krylov recently fought Johnny Walker at UFC Brasilia on the last card before the UFC was forced into a coronavirus-induced hiatus. Krylov says he had no problems fighting on the card and says he is not worried about the coronavirus. In fact, he believes that people are getting infected just because they are thinking about it too much.

UFC heavyweight contender Jairzinho Rozenstruik is calling for an interim heavyweight title fight against Francis Ngannou to headline UFC 249. UFC president Dana White continues to be adamant the show will go on despite Khabib Nurmagomedov making it clear he cannot compete at UFC 249 against Tony Ferguson. The promotion is reportedly in talks with Ferguson and Justin Gaethje about a lightweight fight between them to headline the event, but so far nothing has been made official.
