Former UFC featherweight title challengers The Korean Zombie and Brian Ortega will finally collide inside of the Octagon on October 17. The bout was initially reported by @CCLegaspi on Twitter and later confirmed to be in the works by sources close to BJPENN.com.

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov appears to have his heart set on a future showdown with fellow MMA legend Georges St-Pierre. The undefeated Russian is set to engage in a title-unification bout with Justin Gaethje this October at UFC 254. If ‘The Eagle’ can emerge victorious against ‘The Highlight’ this fall, he hopes that his next Octagon appearance will come against ‘GSP’.

The undefeated UFC lightweight champion, Nurmagomedov (28-0 MMA), is set to square off with the promotions interim lightweight title holder Justin Gaethje in the headliner of UFC 254 on October 24.

The Octagon remains in Las Vegas for tonight’s UFC 252 event, a eleven-bout fight card headlined by a trilogy bout between Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic. The former UFC champ-champ, Cormier (22-2 MMA), will be making his final walk to the Octagon this evening. ‘DC’ has not competed since suffering a fourth round TKO loss to Miocic in their rematch at UFC 241. Prior to that setback, Daniel Cormier was coming off back-to-back stoppage wins over Derrick Lewis and the aforementioned Stipe Miocic.

Zabit Magomedsharipov and Yair Rodriguez have been rebooked to fight. The two have been linked to a bout for years and they were booked once again to headline the August 29 card. Yet, Rodriguez was forced to withdrew due to a high ankle sprain. Magomedsharipov then went back to Russia after not getting a replacement opponent.
Ray Borg issues lengthy statement after being released by the UFC

Ray Borg has opened up on his UFC release. Borg was cut from the promotion following him pulling out of his August 1 fight against Nathan Maness. Borg has dealt with a ton of problems from a sick child to weight cut issues. So, after pulling out of another fight, the Las Vegas-based promotion decided to cut the former flyweight title challenger.

Khabib Nurmagomedov appears to be open to the idea of rematching Conor McGregor. In October of 2018, in the main event of UFC 229, Nurmagomedov was looking for his first title defense when he took on McGregor. The lead up to the fight was intense and filled with trash-talk. But, it was Nurmagomedov getting the last laugh as he submitted the Irishman to defend his belt.

Sean O’Malley still wants to fight Cody Garbrandt even though the former bantamweight champion is dropping down to flyweight. O’Malley is set to fight Marlon Vera in the co-main event of UFC 252. It is a very interesting fight and many thought “Sugar” would call out Garbrandt if he got his hand raised.

UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic says he’s been hit “way harder” than he was in his 2018 knockout loss to Daniel Cormier. Miocic and Cormier’s 2018 meeting marked the beginning of one of the greatest heavyweight rivalries in MMA history. In that fight, Cormier, the light heavyweight champion, moved up to heavyweight to challenge Miocic, the heavyweight champ, for his title. Cormier wound up winning that fight by first-round knockout, but in hindsight, Miocic doesn’t believe the fight-ending blow was particularly hard.

Cormier originally planned to retire in March, 2019, before his 40th birthday.
