Joaquin Buckley has opted to taunt Khamzat Chimaev on social media as fans continue to wait for ‘Borz’ to get back into the Octagon. There’s no denying that Khamzat Chimaev is a scary individual. However, given that we haven’t seen him compete since September 2022, it’s understandable that fans are getting a bit restless. In equal measure, other fighters are more willing to call him out – case in point, Joaquin Buckley.

The undefeated Swede is looking to return to the Octagon in October of this year at UFC 294 which will take place on Saturday, October 21st at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. The question then becomes who will the 29 year olds opponent be?

Following his win over Marvin Vettori earlier this month, Jared Cannonier made it clear that he still wants to pursue the UFC middleweight championship. However, there wasn’t a clear route back to the top for him, even with the Vettori win.

He went one-on-one with Marvin Vettori. Cannonier’s powerful striking was on display. While he couldn’t finish his very tough opponent, Jared Cannonier did leave visible damage on Marvin Vettori’s face by the time the fight ended. The decision was clear as well, and Cannonier had his hand raise when the dust settled.

Usman and Chimaev have expressed interest in colliding inside the Octagon. “The Nigerian Nightmare” told ESPN that it’s a fight that has him intrigued, but he suggested the bout be contested at a catchweight. Chimaev took to his Twitter account to tag Usman in a post with a few money bag emojis. Usman’s response was positive, and he has since doubled down.
