UFC president Dana White suggested that Jones asked for an “obscene” amount of money for the fight, and Jones has since said that White is lying to be fans about how much money he’s asking for to fight Ngannou.

Jones and UFC president Dana White have been jawing at each other in interviews and on social media as of late after a potential superfight with Francis Ngannou fell apart due to financial issues. On Thursday, White told reporters that the Jones vs. Ngannou fight wasn’t happening because Jones had asked for an “obscene” amount of money to get the fight signed. In turn, Jones went on a long rant against the promotion’s leader for “lying to the fans” about the potential numbers being thrown around for the failed Ngannou fight.

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones thanked UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov for backing him up in his GOAT feud with Conor McGregor. On Saturday, McGregor posted a list of the greatest fighters in MMA history. He listed Anderson Silva at No. 1 followed by himself at No. 2, which surprised a lot of people because he listed himself ahead of greats such as Georges St-Pierre and Jones. Nurmagomedov was not in McGregor’s top-five list and he responded to his rival, saying he doesn’t belong on a list with these other greats.

McGregor had released his current “GOAT rankings” earlier this afternoon, where he listed former middleweight kingpin Anderson Silva as the reigning title holder. However, to the surprise of many, Conor had himself positioned in the number two spot, ahead of longtime champions Georges St-Pierre and Jon Jones.

According to the Irishman, Silva’s array of finishes across 2 divisions, with champion status in 1, earned him the top spot.
