Jon Jones believes he will eventually share the Octagon with Francis Ngannou. After Jones vacated his light heavyweight title, he planned to move up to heavyweight and face the winner of Stipe Miocic vs. Francis Ngannou 2. After Ngannou scored the KO win, many fans were eager to see the fight, but Jones and the UFC haven’t been able to come to terms on his pay, yet, “Bones” believes the UFC will do the right thing and make the fight.

UFC superstar Jon Jones seems optimistic that he will get a deal done with UFC president Dana White to fight Francis Ngannou. Jones and the UFC have been involved in very public contract negotiations for a potential heavyweight title fight with the new UFC champion Ngannou. The original plan was for Jones to fight the winner of Ngannou vs. Stipe Miocic 2 at UFC 260, but since that fight happened, White has suggested that Derrick Lewis could be Ngannou’s next opponent. That’s because Jones wants more money than the UFC initially offered. According to “Bones” he balked at the promotion’s initial suggestion of $8 to $10 million dollars.

UFC superstar Jon Jones posted new photos of himself in his heavyweight form, and he looks absolutely massive ahead of his potential return. After dropping the UFC light heavyweight title last summer, Jones has spent the better part of the last year bulking up for his UFC heavyweight debut. The original plan was for Jones to take on the winner of Francis Ngannou vs. Stipe Miocic, which Ngannou ended up winning when he brutally knocked the former champion out at UFC 260. However, Jones and the UFC are now embroiled in a very public financial dispute relating to how much money “Bones” will get to fight Ngannou. At this point, we have no idea if the UFC and Jones will be able to come to a deal, as the two sides appear to be very far apart in money.

Jones is currently involved in a very public contractual battle with UFC president Dana White over how much he will get paid to fight Francis Ngannou. Jones this week said that he turned down the UFC’s initial offer of $8 to $10 million, saying that would be “way too low” for a fight of this magnitude. He then took to his social media to request he would be released from the UFC. Speaking on the “Steve-O’s Wild Ride!” podcast,” Jones once again reaffirmed his desire to be released and explained why he wants to find a new home.

UFC superstar Jon Jones says that he told the UFC $8 to $10 million dollars would be too low for a mega-fight against Francis Ngannou. In a series of tweets posted to his social media on Wednesday, Jones said that he told UFC executive Hunter Campbell that he wants more than $10 million dollars to fight Ngannou. In addition, Jones said that believes he’s been underpaid throughout his entire career and is hoping to finally get paid what he believes is right to take on Ngannou at heavyweight. Mike Winkeljohn, the striking coach of UFC superstar Jon Jones, believes his pupil will score a late finish if he fights Francis Ngannou. Jones and Ngannou are primed to fight each other if “Bones” can come together financially on a deal with the UFC. If cooler heads can prevail and the UFC and Jones can work together, then this is the fight to make. Following the fight, UFC president Dana White suggested that Jones should move down to 185lbs and that he’s scared of fighting Ngannou. Jones and the UFC are currently going head-to-head over a potential Francis Ngannou superfight. Jones announced last summer that he would be moving up to heavyweight in 2021, and UFC president Dana White teased that he would be next in line to fight the winner of Ngannou vs. Stipe Miocic at UFC 260, which turned out to be Ngannou. However, after the event was over, White insinuated that Jones was scared of moving up to heavyweight to fight Ngannou and instead suggested he move down to middleweight.

UFC superstar Jon Jones called UFC president Dana White’s comments “a huge slap in the face” following the events of UFC 260. The main event of UFC 260 featured UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic against challenger Francis Ngannou in a rematch. Although Miocic won the first fight between the two heavyweight rivals, the rematch was a completely different case. After a tough first round that saw Ngannou wobble Miocic with strikes and even beat him in the wrestling department, the second round saw Ngannou brutally knock the champion out. Later on, at the post-fight press conference, White suggested that Jones move down to 185lbs instead of making his planned move to the heavyweight department and fighting Ngannou next.
