Dan Hooker is getting close to a return to the Octagon. Hooker is currently ranked 10th at lightweight and hasn’t fought since July of 2023, when he beat Jalin Turner by split decision. In the fight, he broke his arm but was able to rehab it enough to get booked to face Bobby Green this past December. However, shortly before the fight, he suffered another injury to his arm and had to pull out of the bout and has been rehabbing ever since.

Dan Hooker is confirming that former middleweight champion Israel Adesanya was originally targeted to headline UFC 300. According to Hooker, Israel Adesanya was ready, willing and able to headline the historic UFC 300, but it was middleweight champion, Dricus Du Plessis who turned the offer down.

UFC lightweight contender Dan Hooker has explained why he’s no longer fighting Bobby Green. ‘The Hangman’ and ‘King’ were slated to clash next month at UFC Austin. For Dan Hooker, he was hoping to score his third win in a row, previously scoring victories over Jalin Turner and Claudio Puelles. Meanwhile, Bobby Green is coming off a knockout win over Grant Dawson in October, his second in a row.

Dan Hooker will no longer be fighting Bobby Green at UFC Austin. According to New Zealand Herald’s Christopher Reive, Hooker has suffered an arm injury which has forced him to pull out of his UFC Austin co-main event fight against Bobby Green. The UFC is now reportedly looking for a new opponent to replace Hooker and fight Green on 10 days’ notice.

It was expected that ‘The Hangman’ would be out for the rest of the year, but he has recovered ahead of schedule and is ready to return.

He went one-on-one with Grant Dawson in the main event of UFC Vegas 80. Green entered the bout as a sizable underdog, but he needed just 33 seconds to prove the oddsmakers wrong. “King” Green scored the quick and stunning knockout victory.

He went to war with Jalin Turner, coming away with the split decision victory. He also, though, came out with a broken orbital bone and a broken arm, meaning we’re unlikely to see him compete for quite some time.

Dana White recently announced that the BMF title is back up for grabs following Jorge Masvidal’s retirement and Dustin Poirier will take on Justin Gaethje in the main event of UFC 291 for the belt. Although Hooker’s main goal is to become the UFC lightweight champion, he says he still has some interest in fighting for the BMF belt.

First, White announced that Robert Whittaker will take on Dricus Du Plessis in a title eliminator bout. Now, the UFC boss announced that Dan Hooker will return at UFC 290 against Jalin Turner.
