Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley says that Colby Covington turned down a fight against him for the fifth time at UFC 249. There is no love lost between Woodley and Covington, as they have been talking smack to each other for the better part of two years now. The two have been connected to a fight multiple times in the past but for whatever reason, it’s never been booked.

Earlier today former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley took to Twitter where he proclaimed that he had given his team permission to accept a fight at UFC 249. In the post, Woodley stated that his ideal opponent for the event would be bitter rival Colby Covington.

Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley has given his management team permission to accept a fight on his behalf at UFC 249. The event is slated to take place on April 18 but a location and venue has yet to be determined by the promotion. UFC 249 was originally scheduled to take place in Brooklyn, however due to the Covid-19 pandemic that option is no longer available.

There is an incredibly chaotic situation currently unfolding with UFC 249, as a direct result of the coronavirus pandemic. Nobody really knows the direction that things are going to go in, with everything from Justin Gaethje stepping in to an entirely new main event being suggested.

Tyron Woodley continues to call for a fight with Colby Covington but says he’s also interested in taking on Tony Ferguson. On Monday morning, Khabib Nurmagomedov announced he is stuck in Russia and UFC 249 would most likely go on without him. Immediately, reports came out that Justin Gaethje was offered to scrap “El Cucuy.” Several other notable names also put their name in the hat. But, perhaps the most surprising is former UFC welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley saying he’ll fight Ferguson if the Covington bout doesn’t happen.

UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington says he turned down a date with former UFC strawweight champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Covington and Jedrzejczyk have been involved in a feud for a while now. Both fighters are teammates at American Top Team, but we all know Covington has had feuds with several fighters in the camp including Jorge Masvidal and Dustin Poirier. Jedrzejczyk has made it clear she’s not a fan of Covington and his antics, but according to the welterweight, there’s more to it than just that.

With the UFC 249 lightweight title fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson seemingly canceled, the UFC will be looking for some big fights to make up for it. Colby Covington is hoping to partake in one of those big fights. Speaking on Twitter on Tuesday, Covington once again called for a fight with former welterweight champion and long-time rival Tyron Woodley. He also suggested a fairly unique setting for the fight: the lawn of the White House.

Lambert recently announced a new no trash-talking policy for the fighters at his gym, claiming he has had enough. The gym has recently seen Colby Covington feud with Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Jorge Masvidal, and Dustin Poirier.

American Top Team has decided to implement a new trash-talking policy, this after Colby Covington spawned a number of rivalries between teammates. Going forward, ATT has introduced a “zero trash-talking policy”, meaning team members can only talk trash to each other if they have a contracted fight arranged.

Colby Covington has moved on from his plan to fight Tyron Woodley on short notice in favor of a rematch with Kamaru Usman. Covington, who was beaten by Usman back at UFC 245, was hoping to replace Leon Edwards on short notice in order to go head to head with long-time rival Woodley this weekend. Alas, the UFC couldn’t quite get it done, and now, “Chaos” has decided that he wants to try and avenge his loss to “The Nigerian Nightmare” with immediate effect.

Tyron Woodley has diverted his attention from Leon Edwards to Colby Covington. The former welterweight champion was scheduled to fight Leon Edwards in the main event of UFC London this weekend. It would have been his first Octagon appearance since losing his 170-pound title in 2019 to Kamaru Usman. However, due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the UFC recently announced its decision to postpone its upcoming shows in London, Columbus and Portland.

Colby Covington has apologized to Dustin Poirier for bad-mouthing him in an interview. Covington and Poirier, who both train at American Top Team in Florida, devolved from training partners into enemies last year. The pair even exchanged some threats on social media. This lead ATT owner Dan Lambert to broker a truce between the pair.

Colby Covington thinks it was a mistake to cancel the next three UFC events because of the coronavirus pandemic. On Monday, UFC President Dana White sent out an email to UFC employees, notifying that the next three events on the calendar—shows originally scheduled for London, Columbus and Portland—have all be “indefinitely postponed.”

Ben Askren has dubbed Colby Covington “a dips**t”. Covington’s outspoken support of Donald Trump and offensive insults towards other fighters have polarized fans. The 32-year old and Askren have also traded their fair share of insults. “Funky” doesn’t deny Covington’s fighting talents but believes he has alienated himself and is a “terrible person”.

Woodley, the former UFC welterweight champ, was originally expected to take on England’s Leon Edwards in the main event of UFC London this coming Sunday. Unfortunately, this fight—and the entire UFC London card—effectively disintegrated due to complications stemming from the COVID-19 outbreak.

UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington says he wants to step in on short notice to fight Tyron Woodley at the new UFC London card. Woodley was set to fight Leon Edwards in a five-round welterweight main event but on Sunday Edwards was forced to withdraw due to the coronavirus travel ban from the UK. Most other fighters set to compete at the event were also pulled from the card. That leaves Woodley without an opponent and the status of the card up in the air as the UFC looks to relocate the card to somewhere in the United States. But not if Covington can help it.

Colby Covington needed a reality check and Kamaru Usman was able to humble him, says Covington’s teammate at American Top Team Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Covington is one of the brashest fighters on the UFC roster and leading up to the Usman fight was consistently talking smack about other fighters, including his teammates, on social media and in interviews. But after Usman finished Covington in the fifth round by strikes, we haven’t had the same Covington lately as he appears to be humbled.
