UFC welterweight contenders Colby Covington and Tyron Woodley engaged in a tense staredown following the UFC Vegas 11 weigh-ins. Covington and Woodley are not friends and the fight between them on Saturday will mark an end to their on-again, off-again feud over the last few years. On Friday, both men made the main event of Saturday’s UFC Vegas 11 official when they both weighed in at 171lbs. They will now meet at the UFC Apex in a five-round fight.

UFC welterweight Colby Covington reacted after Tyron Woodley sported a “Make Racists Fade Again” hat at the UFC Vegas 11 presser. Covington and Woodley were set to be the stars of the press conference and had been advertised as such all week long, but the UFC chose to bring in several undercard fighters instead such as Khamzat Chimaev, Donald Cerrone, and Niko Price to be the faces of the presser instead. Covington and Woodley did eventually show up, but it wasn’t for the back-and-forth type of press conference that most expected it to be.

In the main event of UFC Vegas 11, Covington and Woodley will finally share the Octagon after years of trash-talking. Although many wanted this fight to happen while Woodley was the champion, at least the fight will happen. When it does, Covington is a sizeable favorite as opposed to the underdog he would’ve been.

The majority believe Covington’s pace will be too much for Woodley and he will get his hand raised.

In the main event, it’s a five-round UFC welterweight grudge match between rivals Colby Covington and Tyron Woodley. Covington is coming off of a fifth-round TKO loss to Kamaru Usman in his last fight while Woodley is coming off of back-to-back decision losses to Usman and Gilbert Burns. Both men are ranked in the top-five at 170lbs so it’s important for both Covington and Woodley to win if they want to stay in title contention.

After spending almost the entirety of his career training at ATT in Coconut Creek, Florida, Covington parted ways with the gym earlier this year. He now trains at MMA Masters in Miami.
