The bout was viewed as one of the biggest boxing matches of the year going in, and it lived up to the hype. In the lightweight showcase, Davis scored an early knockdown in round two.

De La Hoya is Garcia’s longtime promoter and he was vocal about how confident he was in ‘King Ry’ to get the KO against Davis and become boxing’s bigger star. Unfortnately for him, it was Davis winning by a seventh-round body shot TKO. Then, after the event, De La Hoya was not by Garcia at the post-fight press conference, instead it was Golden Boy President Eric Gomez.

The body shot was timed perfectly but Garcia claims the only reason Davis knew to throw it was because of a mole in his camp.

Gervonta Davis has been arrested for alleged domestic violence. According to ESPN, Davis allegedly struck a woman on the right side of her head with a “closed hand type slap,” leading to his arrest Tuesday afternoon in Florida, according to a Broward County Sheriff’s Office incident report. He was arrested at 2:50 p.m. ET Tuesday on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge of battery causing bodily harm, according to Broward County Sheriff’s Office records. Davis remains in custody after a Wednesday morning court hearing, where bail was set at $1,000, a jail official said.

Davis entered this fight with a perfect 24-0 professional boxing record with 23 of those wins coming by knockout, and he upped that to 25-0 with 24 knockouts when he stopped Barrios with strikes in round 11. It was another incredible performance by “The One,” who proved once again that he is one of the hardest P4P punchers in the world right now.
