UFC star Khamzat Chimaev has given his thoughts on the debate surrounding who the welterweight GOAT is – Georges St-Pierre or Kamaru Usman. The welterweight division is absolutely stacked with talent and Khamzat Chimaev is one of the most notable names currently residing in the top 15. While he may only be sat at number 11, a rumoured bout against Gilbert Burns could help to vault him right into contention if he’s able to take his UFC record to 5-0.

Chael Sonnen has apologized to Tai Tuivasa for previous comments he made about the UFC heavyweight contender. Last Saturday night at UFC 271, Tai Tuivasa exploded into the top five of the UFC’s heavyweight division with an emphatic knockout win over Derrick Lewis. The victory stunned a lot of fans and pundits alike but “Bam Bam” himself seemed pretty confident heading into the contest that he was going to do some damage.

Dana White stuck to his word and did a shoey. At the UFC 271 pre-fight press conference, Tai Tuivasa brought out his ShoeyVasa product and White said he would do a shoey. However, the press conference ended without the UFC boss doing a shoey so after Tuivasa knocked out Derrick Lewis at UFC 271, White decided the time was right to make the move.

Brian Kelleher attempted to enlist the help of Conor McGregor for a potential bout against Umar Nurmagomedov. However, the Russian doesn’t seem to think that ‘The Notorious’ would help much. Kelleher called out Nurmagomedov following his most recent win over Kevin Croom last month. ‘Boom’ got his wish and is now set to fight the undefeated fighter in his next bout.

In the main event of UFC 271, the middleweight title was up for grabs as Israel Adesanya was looking to defend his belt as he was rematching Robert Whittaker. Adesanya entered the fight coming off a decision win over Marvin Vettori to defend his belt. Whittaker, meanwhile, was on a three-fight winning streak, this since originally losing his belt to Adesanya back in 2019.

Khamzat Chimaev, (10-0 MMA) is ranked #11 in the UFC welterweight rankings. ‘Borz’ last fought back in October 30th, 2021 at UFC 267 against Li Jingliang (18-7 MMA) and won by submission in round 1.

In the lead-up to UFC 273, Aljamain Sterling is going all out in an attempt to get into the head of Petr Yan. “Funk Master” is the one holding the belt but given how their first fight was going before Yan’s disqualification, it makes sense for Sterling to do everything in his power to gain an advantage over “No Mercy”.

As part of the Legionfarm NFT launch, Khabib and Holloway – who were meant to square off way back at UFC 223 – went toe to toe on the Metaverse platform. Khabib played the role of Apollo Creed with “Blessed” portraying the great Ivan Drago.

Last Saturday night at UFC 271, Israel Adesanya managed to defeat Robert Whittaker via unanimous decision to successfully retain his UFC middleweight title. “The Last Stylebender” faced far more adversity than he did in their first meeting back at UFC 243 but in the end, he just about did enough in the eyes of the judges to get the nod.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to judge a UFC fight and that’s probably a good thing. Roxanne Modafferi competed for the final time as a professional MMA fighter at UFC 271. She went toe-to-toe with undefeated prospect Casey O’Neil. The bout went the distance and while Modafferi didn’t make things easy for her opponent, the fight looked to be in O’Neil’s favor.
