California sets new rule for traveling combat sports judges after recent Doug Crosby controversy

California has set new rules in place for combat sports judges who travel after the recent issues with Doug Crosby. In the last week or so, judge Doug Crosby has come under a great deal of scrutiny. It first started when he scored the Danny Sabatello vs Raufeon Stots fight 50-45 in favour of Sabatello, whereas the other two judges had Stots winning 48-47. Then, 24 hours later, he flew across the country and served as one of the judges for Paddy Pimblett vs Jared Gordon.

But, once he started training camp, he says the plan was to be the aggressor and force Buckley to be active and likely gas out later in the fight.

Jake Shields and Mike Jackson had an altercation today that turned physical. According to Shields, Jackson has called him a Nazi on social media which the former UFC title challenger was not happy with. The two have gone back and forth on social media and on Friday, they finally saw each other. Once they did, Shields took Jackson to the ground and was holding him there, and tried to land some ground and pound. Jackson – who has also fought in the UFC – is heard asking people to get Shields off of him, before Jake was eventually removed.

TJ Dillashaw has given his thoughts on a possible return to mixed martial arts following his retirement earlier this month. Back in October at UFC 280, TJ Dillashaw fought for the UFC bantamweight title. His aim was to win the gold for the third time, but ultimately, he fell short as a result of a nasty shoulder injury. As a result, Aljamain Sterling is still the king at 135 pounds.

In a strange twist of fate, Jamahal Hill will fight Glover Teixeira for the UFC light heavyweight title next month in Brazil. It comes after the title bout at UFC 282, between Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev, ended in a split draw.

Back at Bellator 289, Doug Crosby scored the main event 50-45 in favour of Danny Sabatello. On the flip side, his two colleagues scored the contest 48-47 for Raufeon Stots. The decision has led Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulations commission director Mike Mazzulli to review the fight.

Darren Elkins suffered some serious injuries in his decision loss to Jonathan Pearce earlier this month at UFC Orlando. Elkins was looking to earn his second win in a row he took on Pearce, as ‘The Damage’ had returned to the win column with a decision win over Tristan Connelly earlier this year. Yet, in this fight, Pearce beat Elkins from start to finish and said he wasn’t shocked by how tough Elkins was after the bout was over.

TJ Dillashaw has a major regret from his career. Dillashaw recently announced his retirement from MMA following his TKO loss to Aljamain Sterling for the bantamweight title. In the fight, he disclosed his shoulder multiple times and after the fight, he was set to undergo surgery.

While it was their first meeting in the cage, the two had met previously twice as kickboxers. The Brazilian defeated Adesanya twice, even scoring a knockout win.

UFC middleweight Deron Winn is officially out of his return at UFC Vegas 66 this Saturday. The American Kickboxing Academy product has been out of action since a knockout loss to Phil Hawes in June. The loss was a devastating one for Winn, as it set him back 1-3 in his last four outings. He had previously lost to names such as Gerald Meerschaert and Darren Stewart.
