BKFC responds to backlash from UFC middleweight Sean Strickland

BKFC has fired back at Sean Strickland over his recent criticism of the promotion. This past Saturday night, BKFC held its Knucklemania 3 event inside the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In the main event, Lorenzo Hunt and Mike Richman collided for the undisputed BKFC Light Heavyweight Championship. Hunt, who walked in as the main champion, proved that he’s the top dog in BKFC’s light heavyweight division. He scored a first-round knockout win over Richman to unify the gold.

Strickland lost a split decision to Jared Cannonier in the final event of 2022 and decided to step up on a few days’ notice to try and get back in the win column. Prior to his loss to the ‘Killa Gorilla’, Sean had been knocked out by Alex Pereira in a potential title eliminator. Tonight’s light heavyweight main event proved to be a twenty-five-minute battle. Sean Strickland got off to a strong start in the fight, but Nassourdine Imavov was able to battle back in round two. However, the final fifteen minutes of the scrap saw Strickland get off the better volume, this while mixing in some timely takedowns. After five rounds of action, ‘Tarzan’ was given the unanimous decision win from the judges’ in attendance.
