Despite logging in nearly 80 fights in kickboxing and boxing, Israel Adesanya is just starting his UFC career as Ronda Rousey moves on in her new WWE career. Adesanya is familiar with the bandwagon jumpers, but also smart enough to know that fickle fans will abandom him just like they’ve done to so many other UFC fighters. If the young prospect could give any advice to Rousey, it’s to not care what anyone thinks and just do her own thing. “[I’m] 100 percent [behind Ronda Rousey], you see the work those guys put in and people are so quick to forget [about Rousey’s other accomplishments]. I don’t buy into the whole fandom, I just think with people who are with me. People are so quick to forget how great Ronda was, how much of a pioneer she was in the game.”

Ronda Rousey is now firmly embedded as a member of the WWE roster. That said, she never officially retired from MMA, which has given her fans hope that, perhaps one day, she will return to the cage. During an appearance on The Ellen Show this week, however, Rousey updated on her future in MMA, and it didn’t sound promising. Instead, she said a return to MMA is about as likely as a return to the Olympics, where she once medalled in judo.

Today, she was honored for those acheivements alongside her mother. We’re getting closer and closer to seeing Ronda Rousey do more than just hip toss Triple H in a WWE ring. After making her debut at the Royal Rumble, the organization has done a great job at hyping up her presence as their new superstar. So far, we’ve only seen a point and a handshake, but after she signs her contract, it will only be a matter of time before Rousey is armbarring and launching people on their heads. Ronda Rousey shook up the world of professional wrestling when the move that had been teased for years finally came to fruition. She’s a WWE superstar now after making her debut at the Royal Rumble. However, any current fan of the promotion knows that there are two brands in the WWE for Rousey to align with. The final part of her signing was announced last night on Monday Night RAW by Kurt Angle that Rousey will be signing her RAW contract at WWE’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event later this month. “This is my life now. First priority on my timeline for the next several years. This is not a smash-and-grab; this is not a publicity stunt. When I first met with Triple H, I told him, ‘There are other things I can do with my time that’ll make way more money, but I won’t enjoy nearly as much.’ I don’t have words at all. I’m like — this is the most overstimulated I’ve ever been in my life and I’m just, like I’m still processing it.”

The news is still everywhere. Former queen of the UFC Ronda Rousey is now the latest WWE superstar. She’s moved on to make big moves in another arena of sports entertainment. One UFC welterweight who isn’t a stranger to the theatrics of pro wrestling or the ring itself, is Colby Covington. He’s walked the ends of the Earth calling out Tyron Woodley, even on air at Impact Wrestling after he and American Top Team co-founder invaded the promotion with teammates. Not only does the controversial fighter support Rousey’s move, but wants to follow in her footsteps. “I think it was a great move for [Ronda Rousey]. She wasn’t gonna win anymore fights, so she’s gotta do something that she can win in, so maybe pro wrestling’s that. I think it was a great move. I think she’s done well for herself and she’s gonna make some good money over there. The thing is, I hope she don’t f-ck it up for the MMA fighters, because I’m the people following in those footsteps. I’ma be over there in WWE, taking the world title soon. I hope she doesn’t act all shy and do all that weird stuff, you know? She needs to be who she is and who she used to be in the UFC when she was the champ.”

The biggest shakeup this time surrounds Former UFC middleweight and welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre’s ejection from the middleweight rankings. Given that St-Pierre is not expected to fight again for quite some time – if ever – his ejection from the middleweight rankings makes some sense. Contrary to this logic, however, Ronda Rousey, who is now a full-time pro wrestler for WWE, is still ranking at women’s bantamweight. Why? Who knows…
