UFC legend Anderson Silva stepped into the Octagon for the final time on Halloween evening for a middleweight showdown with Uriah Hall. Silva (34-10 MMA), who is the oldest fighter on the UFC roster at 45 years of age, has struggled in the latter stages of his legendary career.

UFC superstar Conor McGregor called Nate Diaz the toughest fighter he has ever fought against and said he anticipates a trilogy match. McGregor and Diaz previously fought twice in a pair of blockbuster fights in 2016. In March of that year, Diaz earned a massive upset win when he submitted McGregor on short notice at UFC 196. The two rivals ran it back at UFC 202 in August, and this time McGregor got the better of Diaz as he won a majority decision in a war. A trilogy fight between the two has always made sense, but up until now, the UFC has chosen not to pursue that fight.

The opening betting odds were released for the upcoming UFC light heavyweight title fight between champion Jan Blachowicz and Israel Adesanya. UFC president Dana White made the announcement following UFC Vegas 12 that Adesanya will move up to 205lbs in order to challenge Blachowicz for a second belt. Adesanya, the UFC middleweight champion, has expressed interest in the past about moving up in weight. He will now do so sometime in 2021 when he takes on Blachowicz, who will be making his first title defense since winning the vacant title over Dominick Reyes by TKO at UFC 253.

But he missed the last two years after a devastating motorcycle accident left him injured and nearly forced him to retire from MMA. However, Strickland never lost focus of his goal to return to his career as an MMA fighter, and nearly two years to the day after his last fight against Nordine Taleb, “Tarzan” returned to the Octagon on Saturday against Marshman.

Although Silva looked sharp early on in the fight, Hall remained patient and made the correct adjustments as the fight went on, ultimately scoring a fourth-round KO victory.

UFC president Dana White officially announced the return of The Ultimate Fighter, with the show set to air on ESPN+ in early 2021. White has been actively teasing the return of TUF — the UFC’s flagship reality show that helped bring the sport of mixed martial arts to the mainstream masses in 2005 — but until now, we had few details of what the TUF comeback would look like. Although we still have some unanswered questions about the show’s reincarnation, including who the coaches will be, the UFC shed some light on what TUF’s return would look like following the official announcement of the show’s comeback on the UFC Vegas 12 broadcast.

Although the card didn’t have a lot of name-value on paper aside from the man event between middleweight headliners Uriah Hall and Anderson Silva, it turned out to be a tremendous night of fights. Out of 11 fights that took place at UFC Vegas 12, eight of them ended inside the distance, six of them by knockout, and two of them by submission.

Mayweather retired from boxing for good following his 10th-round TKO win over Conor McGregor in August 2017, a victory that propelled him to a pristine 50-0 mark in the boxing ring. In the three years since then, Mayweather has teased a comeback to the boxing ring, and most of the time he has name-dropped MMA fighters such as McGregor, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Jorge Masvidal, whoever the biggest star in MMA is at the time.

However, the fight turned out to be a total dud as neither man wanted to engage, with Adesanya edging out a lackluster decision for the win.

Hall picked up the biggest win of his career in the main event of UFC Vegas 12 as he was able to stop Silva in the fourth round with punches after a back-and-forth first three rounds. Despite being 45, Silva looked sharp and fast in the fight as he was able to hang in there for the first three rounds before Hall finally landed the finishing blows in the fourth. The win over Hall gives Silva a three-fight win streak and presumably a top-10 ranking.

Greg Hardy sent a message to the UFC heavyweight division following his second-round TKO win over Maurice Greene at UFC Vegas 12. Hardy dominated Greene in the first round and then put him away in the second round with strikes to pick up his fourth UFC victory. Hardy is now 4-2, 1 NC overall in the UFC since making his promotional debut in January 2019 with a DQ loss to Allen Crowder. The former NFL star is now riding a two-fight win streak over Greene and Yorgan De Castro as he moves up the ladder. He also has UFC wins over Juan Adams and Dmitry Smolyakov.

Silva was knocked out in the fourth round by Uriah Hall in a back-and-forth fight that marked the official end of Silva’s UFC career. At 45 years old, UFC president Dana White confirmed the world’s leading MMA promotion won’t be offering “The Spider” another fight. There’s a chance that Silva could fully retire from MMA, but at this point, he’s still leaving the door open to a return. But as far as the UFC goes, Silva’s run in the Octagon is over.
