Uriah Hall vs. Sean Strickland moved from UFC 265, set as main event for upcoming Fight Night

A middleweight bout between Uriah Hall and Sean Strickland moved from UFC 265 and is now set as the main event for an upcoming Fight Night. Hall vs. Strickland is a battle between two of the top-15 ranked middleweights on the UFC roster. The fight was expected to serve as one of the five main-card bouts on the UFC 265 pay-per-view card in August, but instead, the fight was taken off that card and has now been shifted up a week. Hall and Strickland will now meet for five rounds or less in the main event of the UFC Fight Night card on July 31, according to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani.
Dillon Danis critical of Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley booking

Bellator star Dillon Danis was critical of the upcoming Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley fight booking that will take place in the boxing ring. Paul and Woodley had their first public staredown on Thursday night, and Danis had to jump in with a few words to say. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace, who had been chasing a fight against Paul himself, took to his social media on Thursday to take a shot at both Paul and Woodley for taking part in this fight between the former UFC fighter and the YouTuber.

In the main event of an upcoming Showtime boxing pay-per-view, Woodley is set to face YouTuber turned boxer, Jake Paul in a highly-anticipated bout. Woodley is a former UFC champion while Paul has taken the combat sports world by storm and coming off a first-round TKO over Ben Askren.

Floyd Mayweather is open to running it back with Conor McGregor if the Irishman is up for it. In August of 2017, Mayweather and McGregor had their highly-anticipated boxing match. However, the early rounds were competitive as McGregor landed some shots, and according to Leonard Ellerbe the CEO of Mayweather Promotions, a rematch is possible.

It’s a highly-anticipated bout and on Thursday in Miami, the two had their first faceoff where Woodley decided to rap his song ‘I’ll beat yo ass’ to Paul.

Welterweight fan favorite Nate Diaz shared a new poster for the upcoming UFC 263 fight against Leon Edwards, calling it “best of the best.” Diaz and Edwards throw down for five rounds or less at next weekend’s UFC 263 event, which takes place in Phoenix, Arizona. The two rivals were previously scheduled to meet last month at UFC 262, but the fight had to be postponed after Diaz suffered a minor injury during his training camp for the bout. Now that Diaz is healed up and ready to go, he will meet Edwards next Saturday night in a potential No. 1 contender’s fight at 170lbs.

The 38-year-old Blachowicz and the 41-year-old Teixeira will meet in September, with Blachowicz’s 205lbs belt on the line. Blachowicz is coming off of a big win over Israel Adesanya in his last outing that proved he’s an elite fighter in MMA, while Teixeira is still going strong even in his 40s, having won his last five fights in a row. Speaking to Submission Radio ahead of the fight, Blachowicz explained how excited he is for it.

Coach Eugene Bareman claims the UFC was not happy with Marvin Vettori, saying “they don’t want to see someone just lie around and hug someone” Vettori returns to the Octagon next Saturday night in the main event of UFC 263 when he takes on UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya in a rematch. The two previously fought in 2018, with Adesanya edging out Vettori via split decision. Vettori had been calling for a title shot following his most recent win over Kevin Holland via unanimous decision, but most fans expected Robert Whittaker to be next in line for the title shot. However, the UFC went ahead and gave it to Vettori despite apparently not being happy with him.

Beneil Dariush says Charles Oliveira owes him a UFC lightweight title fight, saying to “just own up to the person you were supposed to fight.” At UFC 262 last month in Houston, Oliveira defeated Michael Chandler in the main event of the evening to win the vacant UFC lightweight title. In the co-main event, Dariush defeated Tony Ferguson via unanimous decision in a performance that rocketed him into the top-five in the UFC lightweight division. Oliveira and Dariush are two of the best fighters in the world at 155lbs right now and it feels like they will eventually meet inside the Octagon. But if you ask Dariush, he is hoping that this fight takes place much sooner rather than later.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum has been forced to withdraw from his upcoming slated PFL 6 fight with Brandon Sayles. MMAFighting.com first reported that Werdum has been forced out of the tournament, though details of his withdrawal are scarce at the moment. According to the report, it is unknown at this time if Werdum will remain part of the PFL heavyweight tournament. There has also not been a replacement opponent given to Sayles yet for his upcoming fight.

Of course, Paul and Woodley will headline a Showtime boxing card on August 28. It’s a stiff test for the 3-0 pro boxer and if he loses, he has the right to trigger an immediate rematch.
