Carla Esparza feels she’s done enough to earn a UFC title shot. Unfortunately for the inaugural strawweight champion, the UFC has gone in a different direction. At UFC 268 on Nov. 6 in Madison Square Garden, Esparza will have to watch the immediate title rematch pitting new two-time champion Rose Namajunas against Zhang Weili in the co-main event.

Former United States President, Donald Trump will serve as a host and commentator for Saturday’s Triller Fight Club event featuring Evander Holyfield vs. Vitor Belfort. Trump has been involved with combat sports for years as he is often at UFC events and is close friends with Dana White. However, he is taking over boxing as Fite TV announced Trump will serve as a host and commentator for Holyfield vs. Belfort on Saturday in Florida.

Jorge Masvidal is open to fighting Nick Diaz if the fan-favorite gets past Robbie Lawler at UFC 266. Masvidal and Diaz were linked to a fight at UFC 235 but it never came to fruition. “Gamebred” then ended up facing Nate Diaz at UFC 244 where Masvidal scored a doctor stoppage TKO win. With that, Masvidal believes the storyline is there for a Nick Diaz fight and he says he is open to it.

Ryan Kavanaugh, the CEO of Triller Fight Club claims Mike Tyson is scared to fight Evander Holyfield. Tyson made his return to the ring under the Triller Fight Club Legends banner last November as he fought Roy Jones Jr. to a draw. Since then, Tyson has said he would be in the ring soon, but according to Kavanaugh, he claims Tyson doesn’t want to box Holyfield as he is scared to get knocked out.

Hardy is one of the best European-born-and-trained MMA fighters of all time, and someone who is highly respected in the fight game, so his list is certainly worth taking a closer look at. Former UFC champion Vitor Belfort is currently the betting underdog for this weekend’s boxing match against the legend Evander Holyfield. The 44-year-old Belfort was supposed to fight fellow combat sports legend, 48-year-old Oscar De La Hoya, this weekend at Triller Fight Club’s upcoming boxing event, but the fight was canceled after De La Hoya contracted COVID-19. Instead of canceling the card, Triller was able to get Holyfield to step up on short notice and take the fight. However, the California State Athletic Commission did not sanction the fight due to Holyfield being 58 years old and taking the fight on one week’s notice. Instead, the card shifted to Florida.

Alex Morono was pleased with his victory over David Zawada and he has an opponent in mind for his next fight. Morono stepped up on short notice at UFC Vegas 36 against Zawada as he was looking to fight again. He knew it was a good style matchup and that proved as he coasted to a decision victory. Although he got the win and he’s pleased with the performance he does wish he finished the fight.

UFC bantamweight contender Sean O’Malley responded after being dubbed a “bitch ass” in a recent interview with MMA On Point by promotional newcomer Paddy Pimblett. Pimblett exploded onto the UFC scene this past weekend when he knocked out Luigi Vendramini in what was an incredible promotional debut for the Brit. It was a fantastic comeback by Pimblett and it earned him a 50k bonus. Not only that, but tons of people are now talking about Pimblett and he is becoming a bit of a star for the UFC right now at a time when the promotion needs more of them. Of course, O’Malley is one of the biggest stars in the sport right now, and Pimblett recently had some harsh works to say about “Suga,” especially when he criticized O’Malley’s grappling skills in a recent interview.

UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz revealed that he is “probably 212 pounds” just five days out of his boxing match against Anderson Silva. Ortiz takes on Silva this Saturday night in what is his first professional boxing match. The fight will take place in Florida after it was moved when headliner Oscar De La Hoya got sick with COVID-19 and was replaced by Evander Holyfield, who will now fight Vitor Belfort in the main event. Due to Holyfield being 58 years old and coming into the fight on such short notice, the California State Athletic Commission wouldn’t clear the fight to take place there, which necessitated the entire card being moved down to the state of Florida, instead.

Over the course of the last few years Jack Shore has quickly emerged as one of the brightest young talents in the UK market. The Welsh sensation holds an unbeaten 15-0 record with 10 of those wins coming in Cage Warriors and four taking place in his current UFC stretch.

UFC legend Georges St-Pierre has taken the time to praise the boxing skills of fellow GOAT contender Anderson Silva. Back in June, Anderson Silva surprised an awful lot of people by putting on a seriously impressive display in his win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. It was the kind of match-up that was booked to give Silva a “fighting chance”, but instead, he came out and looked incredibly against a man who had been doing this professionally for years.

Jorge Masvidal is open to boxing both Logan and Jake Paul and he hopes Dana White would sign off on it. Masvidal and Paul were friendly and even trained together before Jake boxed Ben Askren. Yet, when Jake Paul faced Tyron Woodley, “Gamebred” was backing Woodley and thought he would KO the brash YouTuber. Following that, Paul took shots at him and many wondered if they would ever box one another, which Masvidal is open to.

UFC featherweight contender Edson Barboza reacted following his recent third-round knockout loss to Giga Chikadze at UFC Vegas 35. Barboza suffered a tough loss to Chikadze when he was finished with strikes in the third round for his second loss as a featherweight at last weekend’s UFC Vegas 35 card. The 35-year-old Brazilian moved down to 145lbs last year and had gone 2-1 heading into this fight with Chikadze, so a win would have been huge for him. But he lost the fight in a devastating fashion and it’s hard to know what is going to happen next for Barboza given this was such a lopsided loss to Chikadze. He actually took about a week’s timeout from social media after the fight, but now it appears he is ready to get back into the limelight.

Former UFC champion Anderson Silva called the Tito Ortiz boxing match “a tough fight,” but he believes his technique will prevail. Silva takes on Ortiz this Saturday night on the Triller Fight Club card headlined by Evander Holyfield vs. Vitor Belfort. The fight will be contested at a catchweight of 195lbs, meaning Silva will be going up 10lbs from his regular 185lbs weight class in MMA, while Ortiz will be cutting down 10lbs from his normal weight class of 205lbs. Although the Ortiz vs. Silva booking still seems a little bizarre on the surface, it is still a somewhat intriguing matchup between two legends of mixed martial arts, only this time it’s taking place in the ring.

UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping explained why fellow British-born MMA fighter Darren Till should move back down to welterweight. Till lost his second straight fight and suffered his fourth loss in his last five fights overall with a third-round rear-naked choke defeat to veteran Derek Brunson at UFC Vegas 36. While Till did hurt Brunson at one point on the feet, he spent the majority of the fight on his back being controlled by Brunson and getting his face smashed in with ground and pound before the veteran sunk in the finishing choke in the third round. For Till, this was a tough loss that essentially shuts down any notion of him being a middleweight title contender anytime soon. Although he’s only 28, he needs to get back in the win column.

In the main event of UFC Vegas 36, top-10 middleweights collided as Derek Brunson took on Darren Till who was returning after more than a year away. Brunson entered the fight on a four-fight winning streak and coming off a dominant decision victory over Kevin Holland. Prior to that, he TKO’d Edmen Shahbazyan in another dominant performance. His other wins were decision victories over Ian Heinisch and Elias Theodorou. Till, meanwhile, was coming off a decision loss to Robert Whittaker and was dealing with a collarbone injury.

UFC legend BJ Penn shared his take on MMA’s lightweight GOAT, saying that he believes Khabib Nurmagomedov walked away too early. Many fans would consider Nurmagomedov the No. 1 lightweight of all time after going 29-0 in his MMA career, including a perfect 13-0 record in the UFC alone. However, some critics of Nurmagomedov have pointed out the fact he only had three title defenses as reasons as to why he might not be the run-away GOAT, with others such as Penn in the conversation.
