Cole Shelton - October 4, 2021

In the main event of UFC Vegas 38, top-10 light heavyweights collided as Thiago Santos was looking to return to the win column opposite Johnny Walker. Santos entered the fight coming off a lackluster decision loss to Aleksandar Rakic at UFC 259. Prior to that, he was submitted by Glover Teixeira and before that, lost a split decision to Jon Jones for the belt. Walker, meanwhile, hadn’t fought in a year but was coming off a TKO win over Ryan Spann to get back into the win column.

As soon as he stood up from his seat, a member of the audience immediately got up and confronted “The Eagle.” However, Nurmagomedov didn’t even flinch, and security immediately removed the fan from invading his personal space.

Aljamain Sterling explains why he withdrew from UFC 267 rematch against Petr Yan

Adam D Martin - October 4, 2021

UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling explained why he withdrew from his scheduled UFC 267 rematch against his rival, Petr Yan. Sterling defeat Yan via a controversial fourth-round DQ back at UFC 259 in March. Yan was in complete control of the fight and was well on his way to finishing it or at least winning a decision. However, he made a colossal error when he landed an illegal knee to the head of a downed opponent. Sterling was not able to continue and, in a UFC first, the belt changed hands via DQ. Although Yan deserved to be punished for his infraction, there are many fans out there who are not buying Sterling as a champion due to him winning the fight by DQ.

Harry Kettle - October 4, 2021

UFC lightweight Dan Hooker has explained why getting a win over Islam Makhachev is the best way to show how he would’ve fared against Khabib Nurmagomedov. Just weeks after beating Nasrat Haqparast to get back in the win column, Dan Hooker is set to take on one of the most intimidating forces in the 155-pound division – Islam Makhachev. He’ll do so at UFC 267 on Fight Island in a move that has received a great deal of praise from mixed martial arts fans all over the world.

Santos managed to get himself back in the win column last weekend as he managed to grind out a unanimous decision win over Johnny Walker. It may not have been the prettiest win he’s ever had, but a win is all that matters given the direction he was heading in.

Mike Tyson confirms interest in fighting the Paul brothers: "They don’t care about being beaten up for a hundred million dollars"

Adam Martin - October 3, 2021

Mike Tyson confirmed his interest in fighting the Paul brothers, saying “they don’t care about being beaten up for a hundred million dollars.” Tyson is 55 years old, but he is keeping himself in phenomenal shape. Last year, Tyson returned after a 16-year-layoff to take on rival Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition boxing bout, which ended in a draw. Ever since then, there have been rumors that Tyson would fight again, but so far, there has been no opponent given to him. However, if Tyson does indeed fight again, then it appears as though his goal is to make the most amount of money. And the biggest draws right now in the world of boxing are, like it or not, Jake and Logan Paul.

Michael Page wants trilogy fight with Douglas Lima following controversial rematch

Adam Martin - October 3, 2021

Bellator welterweight contender Michael Page wants a trilogy fight with Douglas Lima following their controversial rematch at Bellator 267. Page defeated Lima via split decision in the main event of Bellator 267 in what was a three-round welterweight fight. It was a close contest for as long as it was contested, but many fans and media felt that Lima did enough to take home the decision. In the end, the judges sided with Page via split decision, but it appears as though “MVP” is not satisfied with the result. Speaking to reporters following Bellator 267, Page called for a trilogy fight with Lima to settle the score. And better yet, Page is asking Bellator to book the fight for five rounds.

In the main event, Usman meets Covington in a rematch. These two met two years ago in the main event of UFC 245 and Usman won the fifth via fifth-round TKO. The rematch is highly anticipated and it should be a phenomenal fight for as long as it lasts. With UFC 268 just around the corner, the organization revealed the official event poster for it.

Adam Martin - October 3, 2021

UFC heavyweight Chris Daukaus reacted to his upcoming Derrick Lewis fight, saying that “I think he’s got more power than Francis Ngannou.” The Daukaus vs. Lewis fight was announced this past week by the UFC. The two heavyweights will go at it for five rounds or less in the main event of the UFC Fight Night card set for December 18. For Daukaus, it’s a well-deserved opportunity to fight a top-five ranked opponent after knocking out all four of his UFC foes so far. As for Lewis, following a one-sided loss to Ciryl Gane in his last fight, he needs to defend his No. 3 ranking now.

UFC light heavyweight contender Thiago Santos issued a statement following his UFC Vegas 38 unanimous decision win over Johnny Walker. Santos and Walker surprisingly went the full five rounds in the headliner of Saturday’s UFC Vegas 38 card. It was not a great fight as neither fighter engaged all that much during their 25 minutes in the cage and it was a very close fight for the judges to score. In the end, it was Santos getting his hand raised by unanimous decision, snapping his three-fight losing skid in the process. Taking to his social media following the big win, Santos reacted to his victory over Walker by issuing a statement regarding this much-needed UFC win.

It was a bad situation and UFC president Dana White later said that Jones needs to stay out of Vegas.

Holland and Daukaus clashed heads in the first round in their middleweight bout at UFC Vegas 38, which led to Holland being knocked down to the floor. However, he immediately woke back up, and referee Dan Miragliotta did not stop the fight. A minute later, Daukaus choked Holland out with a rear-naked choke. It appeared as though Daukaus would get the win, but after using instant replay, the referee determined that the clash of heads was what led to the finish, and the referee ultimately decided to rule the bout a No Contest.

However, “Suga” later took to his Twitch to deny that the fight was taking place. It seems like that was some sort of posturing from O’Malley, as just days after he denied to confirm the fight, it’s now official. On Saturday, O’Malley took to his social media to share a photo of him signing the contract to fight Paiva at UFC 269. Take a look at what “Suga” shared on his Instagram.

Ladd missed weight on Friday ahead of her fight against Macy Chiasson at UFC Vegas 38. At first, Ladd stepped onto the scale at 141.5lbs with a full set of clothes on. After stripping down, Ladd had a final weight of 137lbs. Not only that, but she was visibly shaking on the scale and appeared to be in serious distress after another massive weight cut. After Ladd missed weight, Chiasson decided that she didn’t want to take the fight and she declined it.

For Gordon, it’s his third straight win in the UFC and his first since moving back up to 155lbs. Immediately following his big win over Solecki, Gordon used his post-fight interview as the chance to call out Pimblett. The Brit recently made his UFC debut with a KO win over Luigi Vendramini and Gordon hopes that he gets the chance to fight him next. And it appears as though Pimblett is interested, too.

Johnny Walker issues statement following UFC Vegas 38 loss to Thiago Santos

Adam D Martin - October 3, 2021

UFC light heavyweight contender Johnny Walker issued a statement following his UFC Vegas 38 unanimous decision loss to Thiago Santos. Walker and Santos met in the headliner of Saturday’s UFC Vegas 38 card, but the fight did not live up to expectations. Despite between two knockout artists, both fighters fought very tentatively during their fight and the fans were not impressed with their efforts. The fight went the full 25 minutes and Santos won a unanimous decision, but it was far from impressive. Either way, it’s a win for Santos and another loss for Walker. He has now lost three of his last four fights and appears to be in serious need of a win to get back on track.
