There has been much chatter lately about who the best boxer in the sport of MMA is. Max Holloway has said that it’s him, but we’ve also had Petr Yan saying that he is, and now we even have someone like Sean Woodson saying he’s one of the best boxers in the game. There are plenty of fighters in mixed martial arts who are sharp with their hands, but if you ask Cormier, there is one fighter who stands out above the rest when it comes to boxing.

UFC lightweight contender Michael Chandler predicts that Justin Gaethje will become the UFC lightweight champion by the middle of next year. Chandler and Gaethje just went toe-to-toe in an all-out war that took place on the UFC 268 main card. It was one of the best fights of the year, but at the end of the 15 minutes, it was Gaethje who got his hand raised by unanimous decision. “The Highlight” is now expected to fight for the UFC lightweight title in his next fight against the winner of UFC 269’s main event between the champion Charles Oliveira and top contender Dustin Poirier.

Paul has created quite the stir in the combat sports world since he turned to boxing as he’s 4-0 and beat former UFC welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley last time out. He is a former Disney actor and YouTuber so he had a massive following before getting into boxing. With that, he has helped add eyes to the sport which is why he believes he is the best thing to happen to boxing. He also claims the legends of the sport agree with him.

Tyron Woodley has reacted after Jake Paul announced that he has moved on from a potential rematch with the former UFC champion. Paul defeated Woodley via split decision in a high-profile boxing match which took place this past August in Cleveland. It was a competitive contest, with ‘The Chosen One’ hurting the YouTube sensation and nearly earning a knockdown. However, Jake Paul would ultimately land the better volume of strikes throughout the course of the fight and walked away with the split decision victory.

MMA fighter Akmal Khozhiev was charged with the aggravated murder of a doctor in Guam after allegedly stabbing him following an argument. According to the Pacific Daily News, “Khozhiev, 27, was charged with aggravated murder and aggravated assault in connection with the death of Guam Memorial Hospital radiologist Dr. Miran Ribati, 44, according to a magistrate’s complaint filed by the Office of the Attorney General.” According to the report, the murder was a result of an argument between the two parties over vaccinations. Khoziev reportedly admitted his guilt already to the police, telling them that “I killed him” while he was covered in blood when police found him. Ribati was declared deceased at the scene of the crime.

UFC women’s flyweight Andrea Lee has made a major move up the official fighter rankings following her latest victory at UFC Vegas 42. Lee smashed Cynthia Calvillo in a preliminary card bout that took place at this past weekend’s UFC Vegas 42 card. It was an incredible performance by Lee, who was able to utilize her striking attack to pick apart Calvillo and eventually force a corner stoppage in between the second and third rounds. It was arguably the best performance of Lee’s career, and it was her second straight win following a submission win over Antonina Shevchenko in her last fight. With back-to-back finishes now, the UFC rankings saw Lee make a major move as she is now No. 7 in the weight class, having moved up five spots.

Max Holloway praised Yair Rodriguez following war at UFC Vegas 42, saying that he’s “looking forward to your championship reign one day.” Holloway and Rodriguez went toe-to-toe for five rounds in an all-out war that headlined this past Saturday’s UFC Vegas 42 card. It was one of the best fights of the year, but at the end of the five rounds, Holloway was the winner via unanimous decision. However, it was one of those fights where the stock of both men went up. For Holloway, it could be the win that earns him another title shot at 145lbs, while for Rodriguez this performance should be enough to keep him ranked in the top-five at 145lbs. Overall, it was just an amazing fight.

Adrian Yanez is excited for his UFC Vegas 43 fight against Davey Grant. Yanez is 3-0 in the UFC with three KO’s and three Performance of the Night bonuses, so with that, many thought a ranked opponent would be next. Yet, that won’t be the case as he will face Grant on Saturday, which is a fight he is looking forward to.

UFC lightweight contender Dustin Poirier shared his take on who is the “best boxer in the UFC”, and then bantamweight champ Petr Yan reacted. Poirier was a guest on The MMA Hour and he was asked who he thinks the best boxer in the sport is. Right now, there are a lot of people who believe that Max Holloway is the best boxer in the sport of MMA. But as far as Poirier goes, the best boxer in the game is Yan.

UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber says that welterweight Colby Covington is “actually not a bad guy, he’s trying to get himself noticed.” Covington recently lost a unanimous decision to UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman in the main event of UFC 268. It was a great fight by both men, but ultimately Usman got the job done. Speaking to Helen Yee in a recent interview, Faber shared his thoughts on the fight. He said that he enjoyed watching it and then he defended Covington’s personality, suggesting that he is just plating a character inside the Octagon.

UFC featherweight champ Alexander Volkanovski sent a daunting message to Max Holloway, saying “stop playing the games and all the bullsh*t.” Volkanovski was watching intently last Saturday at UFC Vegas 42 when Holloway and Yair Rodriguez met in the five-round headliner. It was an absolute war, but at the end of the 25 minutes, it was Holloway who got his hand raised by unanimous decision. Fans and media were expecting Holloway to call out Volkanovski given that he had a close loss to him last year on Fight Island, but “Blessed” instead listed several opponents. He mentioned Volkanovski as an option, but he also brought up Conor McGregor and Charles Oliveira.

UFC superstar Conor McGregor and Chael Sonnen got into a heated exchange on Twitter, saying “it’s not too late to stay off my radar.” Sonnen started poking the bear on social media on Monday when he sent out a Tweet about McGregor, which the Irishman saw and quickly replied to. We then were treated to a short back-and-forth between two of the best trash talkers in the game on social media.

UFC light heavyweight contenders Thiago Santos and Magomed Ankalaev are set to battle in a UFC Fight Night main event on March 12. The news comes from ESPN’s Brett Okamoto and will serve as the biggest test for Ankalaev thus far in the UFC. Both men are coming off the back of nice wins with Santos bouncing back from three straight losses with a victory over Johnny Walker.

Miesha Tate has defended her fierce criticism of Aspen Ladd following their feud over the last few weeks. Tate, who faces Ketlen Vieira in a bantamweight main event this weekend, voiced her criticism of Ladd earlier this year. The comments came as a result of Ladd missing weight for her contest with Macy Chiasson, forcing the bout to be cancelled due to concerns for Ladd’s health.
