Tony Ferguson continues to pester his longtime nemesis Khabib Nurmagomedov, this time taking aim at Eagle FC’s new 165lbs weight class. Ferguson (25-6 MMA) and Nurmagomedov (29-0 MMA) of course have a long and storied rivalry. The lightweight standouts were slated to meet on five different occasions inside of the Octagon. However, none of those contests ever came to fruition due to a variety of different reasons.

Former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt is open to a fight with Sean O’Malley suggesting he wants to “whoop his ass”. Garbrandt (12-5 MMA) made his flyweight debut earlier this month at UFC 269 when he collided with perennial division contender Kai Kara-France.

The contest between Ryan Spann and Ion Cutelaba will serve as a great opportunity for both men to rebuild some momentum in the light heavyweight contender discussion. Spann, known as “Superman” to many, hopes to bounce back from a disappointing submission loss at the hands of Anthony Smith earlier this year.

Former UFC referee John McCarthy has criticized Eagle FC for booking a fight between Diego Sanchez and Kevin Lee. It was announced recently that former UFC fighters Diego Sanchez and Kevin Lee will, in fact, meet in a 165-pound clash as part of Eagle Fighting Championship’s expansion into the United States. The collision is set to take place in March down in Miami, Florida which will be the host city for the majority of EFC’s events in America.

Former UFC fighter and current RIZIN standout Yoshinori Horie claims he was “deceived” into performing sex acts to fund his MMA career. Horie (12-3 MMA) made his lone Octagon appearance at UFC 240 in July of 2019, where he suffered a TKO loss to Hakeem Dawodu. Since then, the ‘Rising Star’ has gone 4-1, including three straight victories under the RIZIN banner.
