Tonight’s UFC Vegas 46 event is headlined by a key featherweight matchup between Calvin Kattar and Giga Chikadze. Kattar (22-5 MMA) is returning to action for the first time since suffering a brutal beating at the hands of Max Holloway twelve months ago. Prior to that setback, ‘The Boston Finisher’ had earned back-to-back victories over Dan Ige and Jeremy Stephens.

UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling has clapped back at Sean O’Malley after ‘Suga’ criticized his ‘star power’. Sterling (21-3 MMA) was slated to rematch Petr Yan (16-2 MMA) in co-main event of UFC 272 this coming March. However, after Max Holloway was forced to withdraw from the proposed event headliner with featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski, the promotion decided to push the Yan-Sterling rematch back to UFC 273, this instead of moving the highly anticipated bantamweight title unification bout to main event status.

Henry Cejudo is not interested in starting a union, as he believes fighters “should be compensated individually”. The former two-division UFC champion, Cejudo (16-2 MMA), retired from mixed martial arts after successfully defending his bantamweight title against Dominick Cruz at UFC 249 in May of 2020.

Greg Hardy claims that Tai Tuivasa “cowered out of the brawl” in their previous fight at July’s UFC 264 event in Las Vegas. Hardy (7-4 MMA) and Tuivasa (13-3 MMA) collided on the main card of last summer’s ‘Poirier vs. McGregor 3’ event, with ‘Bam Bam’ emerging victorious by way of first round knockout (see that here).

Font had a ton of success but there were a couple of points where he made a mistake and Aldo capitalized and dropped him. According to Chartier, he believes the first knockdown that broke Font’s orbital bone set the tone for the rest of the scrap, as Aldo won a decision. Greg Hardy will not be competing at UFC 270. Hardy was scheduled to face Aleksei Oleinik next weekend, but on Thursday it was revealed the Russian was out of the fight and was replaced by Serghei Spivac. Now, Hardy posted on Instagram a photo of his finger that is cut and appears to be broken.
