It seems everyone is weighing in on who Conor McGregor’s next opponent should be, the latest being UFC commentator Joe Rogan. McGregor (22-6 MMA) hasn’t fought since July of 2021 where he went down to defeat in a lightweight battle with Dustin Poirier (28-7 MMA) at UFC 264. It was during that fight that McGregor broke his leg and he’s been rehabilitating every since. Now back to training, the Irish fighter is hoping to return to the cage by the summer of this year.

Yes, Hardy’s (25-10 MMA) return to combat sports action will not come in a cage but rather in a boxing ring. ‘The Outlaw’, 39, has spent the majority of the last 12 years working for the UFC, first as a welterweight fighter and then, after being sidelined with a heart disorder, as an analyst and color commentator. Hardy, has since received clearance by his doctors and has been contemplating the idea of a comeback for several years.

Jorge Masvidal has shared his thoughts on Khamzat Chimaev. Khamzat (11-1 MMA) seems to be the fighter everyone is talking about. The Swede is just coming off a unanimous decision win at UFC 273 where he defeated Gilbert Burns (20-5 MMA) in the welterweight bout. The duo won ‘Fight of the Night’ honors and saw Chimaev break into the top five of the 170lb rankings.

Very few fighters are able to make as big of an impression after two fights as Paddy Pimblett has. In many ways, despite securing a knockout and a submission in those contests, his actual performances don’t have a lot to do with the success he’s been having.

In the main of 2022 PFL 1, Jeremy Stephens is set to make his promotional debut against Clay Collard. Jeremy Stephens (28-19) is on a six-fight winless streak and coming off a 65-second submission loss to Mateusz Gamrot. That setback marked the last fight on his UFC deal and he then signed with PFL. On the losing skid, he suffered a TKO loss to Calvin Kattar, a decision loss to Yair Rodriguez, which took place after a No Contest due to an accidental eye poke. As well, he suffered a decision loss to Zabit Magomedsharipov and a TKO loss to Jose Aldo. His last win came in February 2018 when he knocked out Josh Emmett.

UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo doesn’t want to see an interim title being made anytime soon. The Brazilian was last seen at UFC 270 in January for his trilogy bout with Brandon Moreno. Figueiredo re-captured the flyweight crown via unanimous decision, and a fourth fight seemed to be on the way. However, the new champion began gunning to fight anyone but Moreno.

Former UFC strawweight champion Jessica Andrade is back at 115 pounds this weekend. The move comes after a brief run at flyweight, where she had three fights. The Brazilian is set to face Amanda Lemos in the main event of UFC Vegas 52 this weekend. It will be her first fight at strawweight since her split decision loss to Rose Namajunas at UFC 251 in July 2020.

After Medeiros was released from the UFC following his fourth straight loss, he made it known he wanted to fight for Bellator on one of the two Hawaii cards. After making it public, Scott Coker and Bellator gave him the opportunity to fight on Bellator 279 on Saturday in Hawaii which Medeiros is ecstatic about.

Mike Jackson is back fighting again in the UFC as he will welcome Dean Barry to the promotion at UFC Vegas 52. The two were booked to fight in January and in May of 2021, but visa issues on both sides caused the fight to be scrapped. According to Jackson, this is a fight the UFC wanted to make so he wasn’t surprised when they made it for the third time.

Daniel Cormier has given his thoughts on former UFC title challenger Nick Diaz returning this year. The former Strikeforce champion was seemingly in retirement before being scheduled to fight at UFC 266 against Robbie Lawler. While he seemed in great shape in training photos, he showed up and notably said he didn’t want to fight. His mental state was further questioned when he requested the fight to be moved to middleweight just days away from the contest.

Ben Askren has responded after Jorge Masvidal suggested he would ‘love’ to face him in a straight wrestling match. Askren, 37, is a former professional mixed martial artist and amateur wrestler. ‘Funky’ is the former Bellator and ONE Welterweight Champion, who remained undefeated for over a decade before competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Ben Askren (19-2 MMA) retired from active competition after his loss to Demian Maia (28-11 MMA) back in October of 2019.

They have had a few drops now but on 4/20, they released special Nick and Nate Diaz moments which Nate isn’t a fan of.

Chael Sonnen says Leon Edwards has been offered his show and his win money to step aside for Conor McGregor to face Kamaru Usman. Edwards (19-3 MMA) is expected to challenge Kamaru Usman (20-1 MMA) in a rematch for the UFC welterweight title later this summer, likely in the July timeframe. The pair originally met back in December of 2015, where ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ earned a unanimous decision victory over ‘Rocky’.
