Holly Holm knows father time is ticking, but “The Preacher’s Daughter” still believes she can compete at a high level. Holm shared the Octagon with Yana Santos in the co-main event of UFC San Antonio on March 25. The bantamweight clash went the distance and it was never close. Santos was outmatched in the grappling department and struggled with her opponent’s elbows on the ground. Holm secured the unanimous decision victory over Santos. This is her first win since October 2020.

Maycee Barber has extended her winning streak to four and she has expressed her desire to have a rematch with Alexa Grasso. Barber was featured on the main card of UFC San Antonio. She went toe-to-toe with Andrea Lee inside AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. This one went the distance and Barber was awarded the split decision victory.

Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone is set to be an inductee in the UFC Hall of Fame and many names within the MMA industry have sent congratulatory messages. During the UFC San Antonio broadcast, it was announced that Cerrone will be making his way to the “Modern Wing” of the UFC Hall of Fame. Cerrone was in attendance when the announcement was being made, and his family embraced him in the crowd.

Henry Cejudo has taken no issue with adding insult to injury at the expense of Marlon “Chito” Vera. Vera was in action, headlining UFC San Antonio against Cory Sandhagen. This was a big opportunity for “Chito,” but he ultimately fell short in the five-round affair, dropping a split decision. Most agree that the 48-47 score in favor of Vera was baffling, and Sandhagen should’ve won the fight on all three judges’ scoresheet. Nonetheless, the right man had his hand raised.

Merab Dvalishvili appears to be more than willing to accept Cory Sandhagen’s challenge. Sandhagen was in action this past Saturday night (March 25). He went one-on-one with Marlon “Chito” Vera in the main event of UFC San Antonio. Sandhagen scored what appeared to be a decisive victory over Vera after five rounds of action, but judge Joel Ojeda turned in what many consider to be an egregious 48-47 score total in favor of “Chito.” Ojeda’s scores were overruled by the other two Octagon-side judges, and Sandhagen nabbed a split decision victory.

Marlon Vera was looking to earn his fifth win in a row when he squared off with Cory Sandhagen in tonight’s UFC San Antonio main event. Vera (20-8 MMA) entered the contest sporting a four-fight winning streak, his most previous being a KO victory over Dominick Cruz (24-4 MMA) in August of last year.

After Edwards defeated Kamaru Usman in their trilogy fight at UFC 286, Dana White confirmed to reporters that Colby Covington would be next up for a shot at ‘Rocky’s’ coveted welterweight world title.

The Octagon returned to Texas for tonight’s UFC San Antonio event, an eleven-bout fight card headlined by Marlon Vera vs. Cory Sandhagen. Tonight’s highly anticipated bantamweight fight proved to be a dominant showing for Cory Sandhagen (this despite one judge awarding the fight to Marlon Vera). ‘The Sandman’ was able to get the better of ‘Chito’ in the ground game in rounds one and two and then cleaned up in the standup in rounds three and four. While round five was definitely close, there was no reason to believe that Vera had done enough to win the fight. Thankfully for Sandhagen, two judges got it right and he was awarded the split decision win.

Michael Bisping is backing Michael Chandler to defeat Conor McGregor in their upcoming UFC bout. McGregor has been out of competition since suffering a nasty leg injury in July 2021 in his second consecutive loss to Dustin Poirier.
