UFC welterweight contender Stephen Thompson has shed light on Conor McGregor’s return. ‘The Notorious’ is currently preparing for a return to the cage later this year against Michael Chandler. The bout will be McGregor’s first since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier in their July 2021 trilogy bout. Ahead of his return, the former featherweight and lightweight champion helped coach The Ultimate Fighter.

At the Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz press conference, a media member made an unwise challenge to Nick Diaz. The two stars are set to headline a DAZN pay-per-view clash in August. The bout will be the former UFC star’s first boxing match ever, and his first combat sports appearance since his exit from the company last September. Diaz famously submitted Tony Ferguson in the main event of UFC 279 last year, the last bout on his contract.

UFC light-heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill doesn’t believe his fight with Jiri Prochazka will be close. ‘Sweet Dreams’ has been out of the octagon since January. In that outing, Hill scored an unexpected unanimous decision victory against Glover Teixeira. In the process, he won the light-heavyweight title that was left vacant by ‘Denisa’. Prochazka famously vacated the gold last year after suffering a shoulder injury in training.

The UFC returned to Newark, New Jersey on Saturday for UFC 288 which saw the men’s bantamweight title on the line. In the main event, Aljamain Sterling was looking to defend his bantamweight title for the third consecutive time as he was taking on the former flyweight and bantamweight champion, Henry Cejudo. The co-main event was a five-round welterweight scrap between Belal Muhammad and Gilbert Burns.
