UFC president Dana White has taken aim at Dricus Du Plessis. After Du Plessis beat Robert Whittaker in July, all signs pointed to the South African getting the next title shot as Israel Adesanya even went in the cage to faceoff with him. However, Dricus Du Plessis revealed he had an injury and wasn’t able to make the quick turnaround to face Adesanya in Sydney, Australia this weekend at UFC 293.

Eddie Alvarez is expressing an interest in a trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier following a recent exchange on Twitter. Alvarez (30-8 MMA) left the UFC in July of 2018 after being defeated by Dustin Poirier (29-8 MMA) via TKO in round 2. ‘The Underground King’ went on to sign with ONE Championship later that year.

Adesanya is set to defend his title in the main event of UFC 293 against Sean Strickland in a fight that wasn’t the original plan. Instead, after Dricus Du Plessis beat Robert Whittaker in July, the plan was for him to face Adesanya next as the two even had a faceoff in the Octagon. However, an injury made the turnaround too quick for ‘DDP’ and Strickland was able to step in to get the title shot.

As most MMA fans know, the UFC has been around since 1993 and stands for “Ultimate Fighting Championship.” It’s synonymous with the sport of MMA and its immense global popularity. Now, Pillow Fighting Championship wants some similar recognition, except the UFC isn’t budging, according to Steve Williams.

The covers for UFC 5 have officially been released. Last week it was reported that Alexander Volkanovski and Valentina Shevchenko would be on the cover of the regular game. On Tuesday, EA Sports officially revealed the cover and it was Volkanovski and Shevchenko on the cover as expected.

Weidman returned to the Octagon at UFC 292, this after recovering from the broken leg he suffered in his fight against Uriah Hall. It was a nasty injury that resulted in multiple surgeries and plenty of rehab. In his return, Weidman was booked to take on Brad Tavares. Unfortunately for the ‘All American’, he wound up losing the bout by decision.
