When the UFC heads to the Nation’s capital of Washington D.C. in December, two heavyweights will reportedly clash in the main event. According to Brett Okamoto of ESPN, former heavyweight title challenger Alistair Overeem will face Walt Harris in the main event of UFC Washington D.C. When Henry Cejudo called out Valentina Shevchenko earlier this week for the first intergender fight in UFC history, fans and media laughed it off as just a gimmick. That might be the case, but that hasn’t stopped the sportsbooks from letting fans bet on the potential bout. On Tuesday, betting odds for this fight were released online. The online sportsbook Bovada released its opening odds for a potential Cejudo vs. Shevchenko fight, and you can check them out below.

Former UFC heavyweight Fabricio Werdum is currently serving the remainder of a USADA suspension, but he is still surveying his division very closely. That means he’ll be watching the main event of this weekend’s UFC 241 card, which will pit reigning heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier against the former champ Stipe Miocic. Speaking to MMA Junkie, Fabricio Werdum gave his take on this matchup. While Daniel Cormier defeated Stipe Miocic by knockout when they first fought in July, 2018, Werdum expects Miocic to win a decision in their second meeting.

The former middleweight champion described Valentina Shevchenko’s performance in the main event as a “safe” and “not exciting.” Valentina Shevchenko put her flyweight title on the line against Liz Carmouche at UFC Uruguay. The pair first fought in 2010 when Carmouche beat Shevchenko via second-round TKO. “The Bullet” vindicated her loss and secured a unanimous decision win, but Bisping wasn’t blown away by the contest.
Stefan Struve delays retirement plans, returns against Ben Rothwell

Stefan Struve isn’t retiring yet. According to a report from MMA Fighting, the towering heavyweight veteran will return to the cage opposite Ben Rothwell at UFC on ESPN 7 on December 7 in Washington DC. ESPN’s Ariel Helwani also reported that Struve has signed a new long-term deal with the promotion.
Nate Diaz says Dustin Poirier 'pu**ied' out of their bout

As far as Nate Diaz is concerned, he holds a victory over Dustin Poirier. The stage was set for a lightweight showdown between Diaz and Poirier at UFC 230. The bout was scheduled to take place back in Nov. 2018. Poirier was forced off the card due to an injury. “The Diamond” questioned whether or not the bout would’ve even taken place had the injury never occurred as he implied that Diaz was being difficult during negotiations.

The UFC has stacked the deck for UFC 241, with the heavyweight title on the line and some very intriguing bouts on the main card. In one of those bouts, former middleweight title challenger Yoel Romero will take on Brazilian knockout artist Paulo Costa, who has been asking for this fight for a long time. Heading into the scrap, Romero is a -155 favorite while Costa is a +125 underdog.

The bout will be a rematch of a July 2018 fight, which Cormier won by first-round knockout. Since that first fight, Cormier has fought once, defeating Derrick Lewis by submission in a successful title defense. Miocic, meanwhile, has not fought since. Instead, he’s been adamant that his accomplishments as the former champion warrant an immediate rematch with Cormier.

On Monday afternoon, Jon Jones took to Twitter to discuss a potential trilogy fight with Daniel Cormier in the midst of the heavyweight champion’s upcoming title defense at UFC 241. Jones “guaranteed” a third fight wouldn’t happen, and, as expected, Cormier had something to say about it. The UFC light heavyweight champion said, essentially, that the only way the fight would happen is if it took place at 205-pounds because Jones has expressed no interest in making the move to heavyweight. “Bones” stated that Cormier wouldn’t want to put his body through another difficult weight cut, meaning a trilogy fight would not take place in the future.
