Philadelphia 76er, Joel Embiid went head-to-head with Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns during a basketball match. As the fight ensured, fellow basketball players, rallied around the bust-up including Ben Simmons. The 76er point guard administered a rear-naked choke to Towns, forcing him to ‘tap out’. The BMF belt — the prize that will be awarded to the winner of the UFC 244 main event battle between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal — has finally been revealed. This unique piece of UFC paraphernalia was unveiled by a glove-wearing UFC President Dana White on Friday in New York City. As yesterday’s teaser revealed, it’s silver and black in color, and inscribed with the letters “BMF”. It also features the year in Roman numerals, the venue (Madison Square Garden), and White’s signature somewhere on the back.

Kelvin Gastelum made weight for his UFC 244 showdown with Darren Till, but his steps onto the scale Friday morning were not without controversy. As Gastelum took to the scale and stripped down to his birthday suit — evidence of a tough cut — he appeared to lean on his coach, which would of course have an effect on how much weight he’s putting on the scale, and the number the scale displays.

After a year of back and forth retirement rumours and UFC return speculation, McGregor confirmed he will be fighting in early 2020.

The 36-year hasn’t hidden his desire to throw down the new MMA prospect, Greg Hardy. The former NFL standout transitioned to professional MMA last year and has already fought 7 times. The 31-year old has had his fair share of controversy including domestic abuse allegations and cocaine possession. Hardy also came under fire for using an inhaler in the middle of his last fight, a three-round contest with Ben Sosoli.

Conor McGregor is due to appear in court this morning in connection to an alleged altercation with a man in an Irish pub. The former two-division champion is facing a single assault charge. He is accused of assaulting Desmond Keogh at the Marble Arch pub in Drimnagh on April 6th when McGregor was promoting his whiskey brand, Proper No. Twelve.

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and MMA agent Ali Abdelaziz have donated a $25,000 reward each to find the missing daughter of Walt Harris. 19-year-old Aniah Blanchard is the daughter of Harris and she disappeared last week in Auburn, Alabama. Auburn and Montgomery police have been searching diligently to find her, but she has not been found. On Thursday, Auburn police revealed they found evidence in Blanchard’s vehicle that indicates she was potentially harmed.

Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father had some harsh words for his son’s former opponent, Conor McGregor, during a Russian press conference. In fact, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov called the Irishman a ‘showman’ and never considered him a tough opponent. Khabib Nurmagomedov fought his longstanding rival in October 2018 at one of the most highly anticipated events in UFC history. In the main event of UFC 229, the Russian native put his grappling skillset on full display and submitted the Irish warrior in the fourth round.
