Jon Jones reacts to Corey Anderson's big win at UFC 244

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones was obviously watching tonight’s UFC 244 bout between division rivals Johnny Walker and Corey Anderson. Shortly after Anderson derailed the Walker hype train with a first round TKO victory, ‘Bones’ took to Twitter with the following messages reacting to Corey’s UFC 244 performance.

A light heavyweight scrap between perennial divison contenders Corey Anderson and Johnny Walker serves as the featured bout of tonight’s UFC 244 prelims. Walker (17-3 MMA) will enter tonight’s contest on a nine-fight winning streak. In his most recent effort at March’s UFC 235 event in Las Vegas, the Brazilian scored a 36-second knockout victory over Misha Cirkunov.

UFC president Dana White is looking for the next opponent for Israel Adesanya, and it looks like Yoel Romero may be the frontrunner to take that spot. With Paulo Costa injured and out of action until mid-2020 with a biceps injury, the UFC needs to find someone else for Adesanya to fight. The new UFC middleweight champion has been going back-and-forth on social media with Romero, and it looks like the trash talk has drawn the intrigue of White, who appears to be interested in booking the fight.

The New York State Athletic Commission has issued a statement regarding Kelvin Gastelum’s controversial weigh-in for UFC 244. The former interim middleweight title challenger, Gastelum, required the use of a towel during today’s weigh-ins and appeared to lean on his coach while on the scale.

Eddie Alvarez has found himself a new apprentice. The former UFC champion is going to teach his MMA skills to basketball star Ben Simmons, following the crazy NBA brawl. Philadelphia 76er, Joel Embiid went head-to-head with Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns during a basketball match. As the fight ensured, fellow basketball players, rallied around the bust-up including Ben Simmons. The 76er point guard administered a rear-naked choke to Towns, forcing him to ‘tap out’. Darren Till reacts to Kelvin Gastelum's controversial weigh-in at UFC 244

Former UFC welterweight title challenger Darren Till will square off with Kelvin Gastelum in a middleweight matchup at UFC 244 tomorrow night in New York. The proposed middleweight scrap appeared to be in some jeopardy earlier this week, after it was revealed that Darren Till had encountered some visa issues.

The BMF belt — the prize that will be awarded to the winner of the UFC 244 main event battle between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal — has finally been revealed. This unique piece of UFC paraphernalia was unveiled by a glove-wearing UFC President Dana White on Friday in New York City. As yesterday’s teaser revealed, it’s silver and black in color, and inscribed with the letters “BMF”. It also features the year in Roman numerals, the venue (Madison Square Garden), and White’s signature somewhere on the back.

Kelvin Gastelum made weight for his UFC 244 showdown with Darren Till, but his steps onto the scale Friday morning were not without controversy. As Gastelum took to the scale and stripped down to his birthday suit — evidence of a tough cut — he appeared to lean on his coach, which would of course have an effect on how much weight he’s putting on the scale, and the number the scale displays.

After a year of back and forth retirement rumours and UFC return speculation, McGregor confirmed he will be fighting in early 2020.

Conor McGregor convicted of assault, fined for punching man in bar

Conor McGregor appeared in an Irish courtroom today and pled guilty to punching a man in a bar earlier this year in Dublin. The Irishman was convicted of assault and fined 1000 Euro for the incident.

Ahead of his fight with Jorge Masvidal, which tops UFC 244 this Saturday, it sounds like there could be another lengthy absence in his future. The 36-year hasn’t hidden his desire to throw down the new MMA prospect, Greg Hardy. The former NFL standout transitioned to professional MMA last year and has already fought 7 times. The 31-year old has had his fair share of controversy including domestic abuse allegations and cocaine possession. Hardy also came under fire for using an inhaler in the middle of his last fight, a three-round contest with Ben Sosoli.
