Paul Daley fired from role as Bellator television analyst

Welterweight contender Paul Daley says that he has been fired from his role as a television analyst for the Bellator MMA promotion. Daley was one of Bellator’s television analysts for its European Series in 2019. However, he will not be continuing in that role in 2020 as “Semtex” himself announced on his Instagram he was fired from the gig. Here’s what Daley told his fans.
Jorge Masvidal doesn't think Conor McGregor will call him out after UFC 246

UFC welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal doesn’t think that superstar Conor McGregor will call him out if he beats Donald Cerrone at UFC 246. For months, the talk of the town has been that McGregor’s plan for 2020 included a fight against Cerrone, a match against Masvidal, and then a title shot against UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. However, Masvidal believes that based on recent interviews from McGregor he won’t be getting called out should “Notorious” get by “Cowboy” at UFC 246 next weekend.
Darren Till teases return at UFC 248

UFC middleweight star Darren Till is currently awaiting his next fight booking, and he is now teasing a return at UFC 248. Till is coming off of a split decision win over Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 244 in what was his official UFC middleweight debut. He is currently ranked No. 5 overall in the UFC’s 185lbs rankings, so he should be in line for a big fight his next time out.
Derrick Lewis believes American Top Team has a hit out on him

UFC heavyweight and fan favorite Derrick Lewis (22-7 MMA) believes the folks over at American Top Team have a hit out on him. ‘The Black Beast’ is scheduled to make his Octagon return at February’s UFC 247 event in his backyard of Houston, Texas, where he will square off with divisional newcomer Ilir Latifi.

UFC President Dana White was so impressed by the heroic efforts of Summer Tapasa-Sataraka that he is bringing her out to Vegas for UFC 246. In addition, the UFC boss added that he wants Summer to work for him, this after she was allegedly fired from her job over the incident.
Conor McGregor adds new stipulation to UFC 246 fight with Donald Cerrone

Former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor will make his highly anticipated return to the Octagon at UFC 246 for a welterweight scrap with Donald Cerrone. McGregor has not competed since suffering a submission loss to bitter rival and current UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in the main event of UFC 229.
Julianna Pena vs. Aspen Ladd added to UFC Columbus

An intriguing women’s bantamweight bout between top contenders Julianna Pena and Aspen Ladd has been added to UFC Columbus. UFC on ESPN 8 takes place Saturday, March 28 at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. The main event is a heavyweight bout between title contenders Francis Ngannou and Jairzinho Rozenstruik. Pena vs. Ladd is expected to take place on the main card.
Colby Covington eyeing April or May return after UFC 245 loss

Colby Covington is looking to get back into the Octagon in the early part of 2020. Covington is coming off a UFC 245 TKO loss to Kamaru Usman where he also broke his jaw. Yet, some reports were uncertain if his jaw was really broken, but American Top Team owner, Dan Lambert, confirms it was fractured. He also says “Chaos” will indeed return to the gym despite Jorge Masvidal saying otherwise.
Dana White confirms $250,000 donation by UFC to Australian Red Cross

UFC president Dana White confirmed that the UFC, in conjunction with Endeavor and its partner companies, has donated $250,000 to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund. Wildfires have ravaged Australia, killing people and wildlife, destroying homes, and laying waste to the environment. The MMA community has taken notice of the wildfires, with UFC superstar Jorge Masvidal heading to Australia in February and donating proceeds from his visit to controlling the fires. Now White says the UFC is also helping out.
Cynthia Calvillo heading to 125, expects UFC flyweight debut in April

Cynthia Calvillo is officially done with the 115-pound weight division. After closing out 2019 fighting Marina Rodriguez to a majority draw — a fight in which she missed weight after her body began to shut down during her cut — Calvillo has made the decision to make the move up to the women’s flyweight division. The 32-year-old Calvillo will return to the division for the first time since her pro debut in August 2016.

Former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz has his sights set on the current champion Henry Cejudo, and he’s denouncing Cejudo’s claim of being the GOAT. During an appearance on Food Truck Diaries with Brendan Schaub, Cruz took aim at reigning bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo, who claims he’s the greatest fighter of all time. When asked about a potential fight against Cejudo, Cruz took aim at the champion saying that if Cejudo wants to call himself the GOAT, he’d have to beat him first.
Sean O'Malley accepts retroactive six-month suspension from USADA

UFC bantamweight prospect Sean O’Malley has accepted a sanction by USADA for his second violation of the UFC anti-doping policy. O’Malley accepted a six-month suspension retroactive to his positive test for ostarine last August. He is now free and cleared to fight Jose Quinonez at UFC 248, which takes place March 8 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Dillon Danis boasts about receiving Bellator ownership stake

Dillon Danis is now 2-0 in the Bellator cage, and will attempt to boost that record to 3-0 when he takes on Kegan Gennrich at Bellator 238 on January 25. Interestingly, both of his previous fights and his upcoming battle with Gennrich have all been contested at catchweights. Danis claims that’s because, as a part owner of Bellator MMA, he can call the shots.

UFC welterweight Belal Muhammad trolled Tony Ferguson with a new video on his social media showing off an intense workout session. Ferguson earlier this week posted a video of his unorthodox training methods for his upcoming fight against UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 249. “El Cucuy” often posts videos of his workouts — many which edge on the side of ridiculous — for his fans to watch. But with a 12-fight win streak inside the Octagon, clearly whatever Ferguson is doing works, and Muhammad used it as an opportunity to troll him.

UFC bantamweight contender Marlon Moraes blasted fellow Brazilian Jose Aldo for saying he was “scared” after their recent fight at UFC 245. Moraes won a highly controversial split decision at UFC 245 in a fight that many, including UFC president Dana White, felt Aldo won. UFC bantamweight champion Cejudo also thought that Aldo won the fight and has spent the last month trying to convince White to give Aldo the title shot despite the former featherweight kingpin officially being on a two-fight losing skid.

ONE Championship returned to our screens on Friday with the stacked ONE: A New Tomorrow card out of Bangkok, Thailand. The card was topped by a ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Title showdown between reigning champ Rodtang Jitmuangnon and former champ Jonathan “The General” Haggerty. Rodtang won the pair’s first fight with a close decision. This time around, the champ left no doubt, bludgeoning the Brit to a TKO win at 2:39 of the third round.

Gilbert Burns believes the welterweight division has become stagnant, just like the lightweight division was when Conor McGregor was the champion. When that was happening, Burns had a hard time getting fights or ranked opponents. So, in 2019 he decided to move up to welterweight. Immediately, he got two short-notice fights against Alexey Kunchenko and Gunnar Nelson, and he won both. But, now with a number beside his name, he feels it is hard to get fights at 170 pounds.
