Michael Chandler has revealed his ideal summer plans. The former UFC title challenger aims to face Conor McGregor in July. The 35-year-old was last seen in action at UFC 268 in November 2021. While he came up short in his war against Justin Gaethje, the pair got ‘Fight of the Night’ honors. The bout was also labeled as one of the best of the entire year by many fans and pundits.

In speaking on the YouTube podcast ‘The Schmo and The Pro’, Michael Chandler weighed in on Islam Makhachev getting a title shot in the UFC. Michael Chandler (22-7 MMA) last fought back in November 2021 at UFC 268 where he suffered defeat at the hands of Justin Gaethje (23-3 MMA). ‘Iron’ is now scheduled to fight Tony Ferguson (26-6 MMA) in a much anticipated bout at UFC 274 on May 7, 2022, at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

It seems that the promotion has finally nailed down the fight and made it official.

Chandler and Gaethje just went toe-to-toe in an all-out war that took place on the UFC 268 main card. Chandler fought three hard rounds with Justin Gaethje at this past Saturday’s UFC 268 pay-per-view card. Although Chandler lost the unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards, his stock arguably went up despite the loss just because it was such an incredible fight. Importantly, Chandler’s durability allowed him to stay in the fight despite Gaethje throwing everything that he had at him. It was an amazing fight and it looks like the performance of Chandler caught the eye of the sport’s biggest star in McGregor.

UFC lightweight contender Justin Gaethje reacted following his Fight of the Night war with Michael Chandler at Saturday’s UFC 268 card. Gaethje and Chandler went to war for 15 minutes in what was the best fight of the night at UFC 268. Both Gaethje and Chandler stool in the center of the Octagon and traded punches and kicks for three full rounds. Incredibly, both men had the toughness and durability to actually make it the distance even despite throwing everything including the kitchen sink at each other’s heads. It was an absolutely phenomenal fight, but at the end of the three rounds, it was Gaethje who got his hand raised by unanimous decision.
