Dana White announces two more fights for UFC 300, including Justin Gaethje vs. Max Holloway

UFC CEO Dana White has announced two more fights for UFC 300 including the BMF belt being up for grabs. White took to his Instagram on Tuesday to announce that Justin Gaethje will be defending his BMF belt for the first time against former featherweight king Max Holloway, with the scrap taking place at lightweight. Along with that fight, Jim Miller will get his wish of fighting at UFC 300 as he’ll face Bobby Green.

Josh Emmett has called out former UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway. Emmett (18-4 MMA) last fought Bryce Mitchell (16-1 MMA) this past December at UFC 296 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 38-year-old managed to KO Mitchell at 1:57 of Round 1 to get back in the win column (see that here).

That bout will be Alexander Volkanovski’s first since a knockout loss to Islam Makhachev in October. Due to that knockout defeat, there were questions if the featherweight champion would be able to fight Ilia Topuria in early 2024.

Max Holloway is claiming he’s on the ‘shortlist’ to fight Conor McGregor. The two have a history, it was Holloway (25-7 MMA) vs McGregor (22-6 MMA) in a featherweight bout way back in August of 2013, where it was the Irishman defeating ‘Blessed’ by unanimous decision.

In 2024, the Ultimate Fighting Championship is going to come out swinging. They’ve already announced the main event bouts for UFC 297, UFC 298 and UFC 299, and of course, the blockbuster UFC 300 event will follow in April.

In the main event of UFC Singapore, a featherweight banger headlined the card as Max Holloway took on Korean Zombie. Holloway entered the fight coming off a decision win over Arnold Allen back in April to return to the win column after losing a one-sided decision to Alexander Volkanovski for the featherweight title in July 2022. Korean Zombie, meanwhile, was ending his layoff as he last fought back in April 2022 when he suffered a TKO loss to Volkanovski for the featherweight title.

Max Holloway has explained why he didn’t callout Alex Volkanovski following his knockout win over The Korean Zombie at UFC Singapore. Holloway (25-7 MMA) collided with Chan Sung Jung (17-8 MMA) in the headliner of today’s event in Singapore. The result was a third-round KO victory for ‘Blessed’ (see that here), with The Korean Zombie subsequently announcing his retirement.
