Saint Preux and Jones fought at UFC 197 in 2016 for the interim lightweight title. It was “Bones'” first fight back from USADA suspension and was able to get the decision win.

MMA legend Alistair Overeem says that he would be “honored” to welcome Jon Jones to the UFC heavyweight division. Jones recently announced that he was vacating the UFC light heavyweight title with a planned move up to heavyweight. He has already been connected to fights against UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic, top contender Francis Ngannou, and former champ Brock Lesnar. Now Overeem, the former Strikeforce heavyweight champion, has joined those names as someone who’d be interested in fighting Jones at his new weight class.

Ever since Jones vacated the light heavyweight title many thought “Bones” would get an immediate title shot. A fight against Miocic would be massive and it would be a very competitive fight. Yet, for Marinelli, he doesn’t know where Jones would have success in the fight.

Reyes challenged Jones for the UFC light heavyweight title in February, and ultimately lost a hotly debated unanimous decision. After this controversial outcome, he was adamant that he deserved a second crack at the champion. In the end, however, Jones vacated the light heavyweight title to move up to the heavyweight division, and Reyes was booked for a fight with Poland’s Jan Blachowicz, which will crown the new light heavyweight champ.

Immediately, MMA fans wanted to see Lesnar back in the UFC to fight the likes of Jon Jones or go to Bellator to make the Fedor Emelianenko fight.

UFC superstar Jon Jones released a video of him lifting weights as he looks to bulk up before making his move up to heavyweight. Jones recently vacated the UFC light heavyweight title and made it official that he intends on moving up to heavyweight for his next fight. Jones had previously expressed an interest in fighting Francis Ngannou in a non-title fight, but after Stipe Miocic defended the UFC heavyweight title against Daniel Cormier, Jones seems to have Miocic locked in his crosshairs. On his end, Miocic has admitted that he is interested in fighting Jones, too.

A plethora of UFC fighters took to social media today to pay tribute to actor Chadwick Boseman following the news of his untimely death. Boseman, who was best known for his role as Marvel’s “Black Panther”, passed away Friday following a battle with colon cancer. He was only 43-years-old.

Jones was all over the news this week after the surprise announcement that he was vacating the UFC light heavyweight title. In the wake of Jones giving up his belt, there have been suggestions that Bader was briefly the new top dog at 205lbs, and Bellator president Scott Coker even said that Bellator had a better light heavyweight division than the UFC with Bader as the champ.
