Eryk Anders has given his thoughts following his controversial defeat at the hands of Park Jun-yong last weekend. Saturday night’s UFC Vegas 55 card certainly turned a few heads with many fans and pundits alike disagreeing with some of the decisions that were made by the judges. One of the biggest examples of that came in the main event between Holly Holm and Ketlen Vieira, but beyond that, we also saw some controversy at middleweight as Park Jun-yong defeated Eryk Anders to open up the main card.

Eryk Anders is excited to get the chance to fight one more time before the year is up. Anders was supposed to fight on November 13 but after testing positive for COVID-19 he was pulled from the fight. Shortly after recovering, he got the call to face Andre Muniz at UFC 269 which Anders accepted as he says it is a similar style matchup to Roman Dolidze who he was supposed to face back in November.

Eryk Anders wasn’t thrilled with his UFC 263 win over Darren Stewart. On Saturday night, Anders and Stewart were running back their fight in March that ended in a No Contest. In the first bout, Anders nearly finished the Brit before throwing an illegal knee and entering the rematch, “Ya Boi” said the gameplan was very similar.

Eryk Anders has all the confidence in the world when he rematches Darren Stewart at UFC 263. Anders and Stewart first met in a middleweight bout in March. Early on in the fight, Anders dropped Stewart and was landing heavy shots. However, as he was looking to finish the Englishman he threw an illegal knee and the fight was ruled a No Contest.

UFC middleweight contender Darren Stewart released a statement following his No Contest against Eryk Anders at UFC Vegas 21. Stewart and Anders met this past Saturday night in a highly-anticipated fight between two of the strongest middleweights in the UFC. Though Stewart entered the fight at the betting favorite, Anders appeared to have the early edge in the fight as he badly rocked Stewart with punches and nearly had him finished. However, Anders made the colossal error of hitting a downed opponent with an illegal knee. Luckily for Anders, referee Herb Dean called the fight a No Contest instead of disqualifying him like Petr Yan was at UFC 259.

Anders (13-5 MMA) was one of many fighters to weigh in after Yan lost his title to Aljamain Sterling by way of disqualification at UFC 259. The now former bantamweight champion had landed a knee to the face of ‘Funkmaster’, while he was grounded, which caused an unfortunate end to the fight.

UFC middleweight Eryk Anders issued an apology to Darren Stewart following the “critical error” he made in their fight at UFC Vegas 21. Anders and Stewart met on the UFC Vegas 21 main card in a fight between two big middleweights. Although Stewart was the betting favorite heading into the fight, Anders looked like he was the better fighter as long as the fight lasted, as he was hurting Stewart with strikes up against the cage. It appeared as though referee Here Dean was close to stopping the fight as Anders rained down strikes on his hurt opponent, but then “Ya Boi” made the grave error of landing an illegal knee to a downed opponent. Stewart couldn’t continue and the fight was ruled a No Contest, with Dean ruling the knee was accidental.

Anders returns to the Octagon on March 13 when he meets Darren Stewart at UFC Fight Night: Edwards vs. Muhammad. As part of his training camp for the fight, he got some work in with Cejudo and his coach Eric Albarracin. Speaking to James Lynch of MMA News, Anders praised Cejudo for his coaching abilities and also said that he’s a completely different person in real life than the ‘king of cringe’ he portrays himself on social media.

UFC middleweight Eryk Anders has issued a statement after pulling out of his UFC Vegas 14 fight against Antonio Arroyo due to health issues. Anders vs. Arroyo was set to take place on Saturday night at UFC Vegas 14, but Anders missed weight on Friday, and on Saturday morning, he was out of the fight. A number of new matchups have been added to the upcoming UFC Fight Night card on May 16, including the return of middleweight Eryk Anders. UFC president Dana White recently announced three cards in Jacksonville, Florida, and now the matchups are trickling out. Last week it was revealed the main event of the card will be a five-round heavyweight bout between Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris. This fight was re-booked from its original spot at UFC Portland, and several of the other fights added to this event are also re-bookings from other cards that were canceled.

An intriguing middleweight bout between standouts Eryk Anders and Krzysztof Jotko is the latest addition to April’s UFC Portland card. UFC on ESPN+ 30 takes place on April 11 at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. The main event of the card is a five-round heavyweight bout between Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris. Anders vs. Jotko is expected to slot in somewhere on the main card.
