Drakkar Klose was relieved to finally make the walk to the Octagon again. Klose was returning to action for the first time since tearing his ACL and when he squared off with Joe Solecki at UFC Austin. Heading into the fight, he said he wasn’t worried about the ring rust as he had full confidence in his training camp.

Drakkar Klose is no stranger to dealing with injuries and layoffs. Klose was supposed to fight last October against Mark O. Madsen but he tore his ACL which forced him on the sidelines for over a year. Although Klose was able to return to training six months after the surgery, he says he was extra cautious to make sure he was 100 percent before returning to action.

Drakkar Klose had a feeling Diego Ferreira wouldn’t be fighting him at UFC 277. When Klose was booked to fight Ferreira, the Brazilian was in the lightweight rankings, despite being on a three-fight losing skid. Yet, he recently got dropped from the rankings and just two weeks from the event, Ferreira pulled out which didn’t surprise Klose.

On Saturday (July 23), Pimblett shared the Octagon with Lordan Leavitt at a UFC London event inside the O2 Arena. Diego Ferreira will no longer be fighting in front of his adopted home of Dallas, Texas. Multiple sources informed BJPENN.com that Ferreira has been forced to pull out of his UFC 277 fight against Drakkar Klose due to an injury. The UFC is actively searching for an opponent to replace Ferreira and face Klose, the sources said, but it is uncertain if one will be found on two weeks’ notice.

Drakkar Klose is excited to finally make the walk to the Octagon again. Klose is set to return to the Octagon at UFC Vegas 51 for the first time since UFC 248 in March 2020. Since then, he’s had several opponents pull out and later suffered a severe injury from a push he received from Jeremy Stephens. However, he has put that all behind him and will face Brandon Jenkins on Saturday, an opponent he believes he’s sparred with in the past.

Klose and Stephens were set to fight at UFC Vegas 24 on April 17, but Stephens shoved Klose at weigh-ins, and right away he knew something was wrong. He was still dehydrated and didn’t expect the shove which is why he thinks the injury was so bad.

UFC lightweight Drakkar Klose trashed his former rival Jeremy Stephens following his fifth straight loss at UFC Vegas 31. Stephens was submitted in the first round by Mateusz Gamrot when he was taken down to the mat and tapped out with a kimura. For Stephens, this was his fifth straight loss in the UFC. With a No Contest mixed in the losing skid, Stephens is officially on a six-fight winless skid. It’s a bad look for a fighter who has been a mainstay of the UFC roster for nearly the past 15 years, and for the first time in his UFC career it seems like there is a chance that Stephens could be at risk of losing his job, and Klose made sure that he knows just that.

As one of the longest-tenured athletes in the UFC, Stephens has practically seen it all — but having a fight canceled via shove was a new experience. UFC lightweight Drakkar Klose is not happy that he was “injured on the job” following a shove by Jeremy Stephens before UFC Vegas 24. Klose and Stephens were set to meet in the co-main event of the UFC Vegas 24 card two weeks ago. However, the fight fell apart at the last second when Klose was unable to compete after being injured following a shove from Stephens at the weigh-ins on Friday. Klose was apparently feeling the affects of whiplash and he was unable to fight the next day. That meant that the fight was off, and though Klose was eventually paid his show money, he believes that the UFC should have given him his full win bonus, as well.

UFC lightweight Drakkar Klose has been given his show money, but not his win bonus, after his recent fight with Jeremy Stephens was canceled. Last Friday at the UFC Vegas 24 weigh-ins, Klose was shoved by Stephens. The shove came out of nowhere and startled Klose, who was already dehydrated from cutting weight. The next day, the fight was canceled just hours before the fighters were supposed to step into the cage. Klose later released a statement saying that he was injured from the shove and that he was dealing with whiplash-like symptoms. UFC president Dana White responded by saying that UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby was the one to blame since he should have prevented the shove from ever occurring between Klose and Stephens.

Jeremy Stephens moves back up to lightweight when he fights Drakkar Klose in April

UFC veteran Jeremy Stephens will move back up to the lightweight division when he takes on Drakkar Klose later this spring. Stephens vs. Klose has been added to the UFC Fight Night card on April 17. That event is headlined by middleweights Robert Whittaker and Paulo Costa. Stephens will be moving back up to 155lbs, which was his original weight class in the UFC. He has been competing at featherweight for the past seven years but is going to move back to lightweight for this bout. It’s unknown if this is a permanent move for Stephens or if he’s just taking the fight because it was available and he likes the matchup. Either way, Stephens vs. Klose will take place later this spring. MMAjunkie.com’s Nolan King was the first to break the news.
