Although Silva looked sharp early on in the fight, Hall remained patient and made the correct adjustments as the fight went on, ultimately scoring a fourth-round KO victory.

Hall picked up the biggest win of his career in the main event of UFC Vegas 12 as he was able to stop Silva in the fourth round with punches after a back-and-forth first three rounds. Despite being 45, Silva looked sharp and fast in the fight as he was able to hang in there for the first three rounds before Hall finally landed the finishing blows in the fourth. The win over Hall gives Silva a three-fight win streak and presumably a top-10 ranking.

Silva was knocked out in the fourth round by Uriah Hall in a back-and-forth fight that marked the official end of Silva’s UFC career. At 45 years old, UFC president Dana White confirmed the world’s leading MMA promotion won’t be offering “The Spider” another fight. There’s a chance that Silva could fully retire from MMA, but at this point, he’s still leaving the door open to a return. But as far as the UFC goes, Silva’s run in the Octagon is over.

The 45-year-old Silva is generally regarded as one of the best MMA fighters of all time but one argument that is used against him is his previous sanctions for performance-enhancing drugs. In 2015, Silva defeated Nick Diaz via unanimous decision at UFC 183 but the fight was overturned to a No Contest after Silva tested positive for steroids by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. He was also fined and suspended for one year.

Silva is the oldest fighter on the UFC roster at 45 years of age and he has really struggled in the latter stages of his legendary career, losing two straight bouts to Jared Cannonier, Israel Adesanya, and four of his last five overall. UFC president Dana White recently said that Silva would call it quits after the Hall fight on Halloween, but until now we haven’t had confirmation from “The Spider” himself about his retirement plans.
