Ever since then it’s seemed as if the UFC has been interested in booking an immediate rematch, but due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, it hasn’t quite materialized.

Alexander Volkanovski vs. Max Holloway rematch scratched from UFC 251

Adam Martin - April 1, 2020

A planned rematch between UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway has been scratched from UFC 251, another major blow to the card. The UFC planned on a double bill of title fights at UFC 251, which is still tentatively scheduled to take place on June 6 in Perth, Australia. Earlier this week we found out that the co-main event between UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko and Joanne Calderwood has been postponed, and now Volkanovski vs. Holloway has been scratched, as well, putting the entire event in jeopardy of not happening as planned.

Alex Volkanovski feels Jon Jones isn't being held accountable for his actions

Fernando Quiles Jr. - March 30, 2020

Alex Volkanovski thinks Jon Jones gets passes too frequently when it comes to his run-ins with the law. On March 26, Jones was arrested in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Police responded to a criminal complaint of gunshots. They found Jones inside his car with the engine on in the area of 3rd Street and Central Avenue. After being given a sobriety test and a breathalyzer, Jones was in handcuffs. Police then found a handgun under the driver seat and an open bottle of Recuerdo behind the passenger seat.

Alexander Volkanovski says Henry Cejudo is ‘trying to stay relevant’ but will ‘regret’ calling him out if they fight

Cole Shelton - March 10, 2020

Alexander Volkanovski believes Henry Cejudo is just trying to stay relevant by calling him out. Cejudo, who is the current bantamweight champion, has said he wants to fight Volkanovski to try and become the first three-weight champion in the UFC. It would no doubt be a phenomenal feat. Yet, Volkanovski doesn’t believe it will happen, as he says “Triple C” will regret calling him out if they were to scrap down the line.

Alexander Volkanovski laughs off Henry Cejudo fight: "I'll squash him."

Natasha Hooper - February 24, 2020

The UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski is amused by the possibility of fighting reigning bantamweight champion, Henry Cejudo. The Australian native is confident he would “squash” the American inside of the Octagon. “Triple C” has placed Jose Aldo and Alexander Volkanovski at the top of his matchup wishlist- despite the fact that Volkanovski is a weight category above. Cejudo previously held both the bantamweight and flyweight belts before relinquishing the latter for lack of title defences. If he was to defeat the featherweight champion, this would make Cejudo the first UFC fighter to hold belts in three divisions.

But, he is looking to add featherweight champion to that list.

Alexander Volkanovski takes a shot at Henry Cejudo, 'Triple C' responds

Adam Martin - January 19, 2020

UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski took a shot at UFC bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo, and ‘Triple C’ responded in a funny social media exchange. Volkanovski joked that he should call out the loser of the featherweight undercard bout between Sodiq Yusuff and Andre Fili, which Yusuff won via unanimous decision, and tagged Cejudo in his Tweet. “The Great” was clearly taking a shot at Cejudo for his decision to fight Jose Aldo despite him coming off of a split decision loss to Marlon Moraes at UFC 245.

The Korean Zombie predicts quick finish in potential title fight with Alex Volkanovski

Harry Kettle - January 8, 2020

Chan Sung Jung, aka The Korean Zombie, has predicted a quick finish if he is to ever face Alexander Volkanovski for the UFC Featherweight Championship. The Korean Zombie is coming off the back of a memorable finish over Frankie Edgar which cemented his spot as one of the top guys in the division. Alas, while that may be the case, the presence of Zabit Magomedsharipov and Max Holloway has caused some doubt as to whether or not he will be the man to get the next shot at the belt.

Harry Kettle - December 18, 2019

Max Holloway has had nothing but good things to say about the new UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski. The two men played an incredible chess match against one another inside the Octagon on Saturday night at UFC 245, with Volkanovski being the man who did enough to get his hand raised. At the time it seemed as if Holloway was a bit conflicted about the decision from the judges, but upon reflection, he’s happy to just give praise where it’s due to Australia’s second UFC champ.
