Aleksandar Rakic reveals he had staph infection leading into his UFC 300 fight against Jiri Prochazka. Rakic was ending his nearly two-year layoff at UFC 300 as he was facing the former champ in Prochazka in a crucial fight for the light heavyweight division. Ultimately, it was Prochazka who won by second-round TKO as he had Rakic hurt and swarmed him until the ref stopped the fight.

It appears that UFC light heavyweights Jiri Prochazka and Aleksandar Rakic will be fighting at some point in 2024. ‘Rocket’ has been out of action since a third-round stoppage loss at the hands of Jan Blachowicz over a year ago. That bout saw Aleksandar Rakic suffer an injury, which has kept him out of action for most of this year. However, he later booked a rematch with Blachowicz, slated for UFC 297 in January.

Since then, Rakic has been adamant he will get a rematch with Blachowicz and beat him when they do.

Back in June of 2019 at UFC Stockholm, Manuwa and Rakic fought and it was the Austrian who won by head kick KO in just 42-seconds. Since the loss, Manuwa says Rakic has been disrespectful as he has been DM’ing him asking if the Brit needs money given Rakic earned 50k for his KO win.
